By the way, I have the Rev'it Gear pants which are leather and mesh on non-impact areas. A very comfortable combo for wanting the protection but gettingh stuck in traffic. And on cool mornings a refreshing breeze on the giblets to make sure you're wide awake and alert. ;)

Looks like small money clip type and inside pocket is way to go for me. If I am wearing full leather, I think I rather not carry anything external. But then again, if I am traveling long distance to hit the canyons and stay over night, I will have to.

I'm surprised more folks don't put both wallet and cell phone under the cowl. That is what I have done on my Ninja 1000 and I find that the Ducati has plenty of room under there as well.

Just make sure you "click it"... With all the flying cowls around this forum it would really suck if you lost your cowl along with your phone and your wallet since you need the wallet to order a new cowl. :)

You obviously don't have a NOTE2. If I put my phone in there I can't fit anything else lol.

used to, too. but if you crash and can't get up and your phone is 50 yards away from you... with a broken arm, collarbone and legs you can still make a phone call, if you get it out of your pocket.

Call me paranoid but I always wear full leathers, back and chest protecter (one piece leathers, however, I have a two-piece on order from Pilot) and I ALWAYS have my cell phone inside my leathers and never on the bike. I often ride alone, and if I crash, I will be separated from my bike and I may not be able to reach it to call for help.

Do you ride to work like this? To pick up milk or eggs or to Chipotle? Or are you talking about going out and just riding and then coming home?

Great point!:)

I'm with you in principle and I'll leave it alone. I agree that all the gear all the time is the best solution, but a lot of us use these bikes as transportation in addition to fun riding and that introduces a whole other level of complication and logistics. Maybe I'll look into a kevlar suit and knee high dress shoes with sliders. :)

Or just the knee high dress you normally wear at work - oops, did I just type that, I know you were going to wait to telll everyone.

I would love to wear leather 1 pc every where, but the lazyness gets me (to be honest).

If I can transform like a superhero and change in a flash, that would be great.

Good thought! Have always put my wallet & phone under the cowl, too, but maybe not the best spot for emergency use of the phone ... thanks!

When I ride my bike I ride with a very specific purpose - the ride. For me, it is not a vehicle to get somewhere. True, I do not ride as much as if one was using it to commute to work or to run errands. So, generally, I have a very narrow application of use and I dress for it.

I have used my 1199 once to run an errand because I wanted to see what the new fuel map felt like in traffic; but, I wore my two-piece touring leathers. That said, I still kept my phone in my pocket along with my health insurance card.

Anyway, my point was not about what one chooses to wear, but what one might want to consider when deciding where to stash a mobile phone while on a ride.

+1
:D

I ride alone myself. When I do ride Ducati, I ride to ride...So I should wear as much protection. I need to wear my 1 pc leather more often.

When I ride HD, I write to commute and I carry stuff. I wear protection gears and its easier to put things on me vs. 1 pc leather.
