I wear it on my side when I ride. I find it the most comfortable and easiest access when riding. Just make sure the zipper closes towards the rear of the fanny pack when you wear it on you side. Otherwise the zipper will open when it catches air in the tiny opening at the leading side of the zipper.Do you carry it facing rearward or toward the side? Just curious if it interferes with seating position or could scratch the rear cowl.
used to, too. but if you crash and can't get up and your phone is 50 yards away from you... with a broken arm, collarbone and legs you can still make a phone call, if you get it out of your pocket.
Good point when riding alone.
Another tip when riding alone... let someone know about your riding plan(destination, time, etc.) and confirm your safe arrival after the ride.
I'm with you in principle and I'll leave it alone. I agree that all the gear all the time is the best solution, but a lot of us use these bikes as transportation in addition to fun riding and that introduces a whole other level of complication and logistics. Maybe I'll look into a kevlar suit and knee high dress shoes with sliders.
I ride my bike pretty much everyday, as long as the weather and plans for the day agree. It's really difficult to wear full protection when riding this often. My minimum requirements are helmet, riding jacket with CE armour (back protector included), riding boots, riding gloves. The only thing that I find it tough to wear are riding pants.
When I ride out on the weekends knowing that I take more "risk" I wear full or two-piece suit + gauntlet gloves.
Just like I have a minimum requirement, the requirements of others might differ. Just wanted to share what I consider the absolute minimum.
