Questions to those who wear Full Leathers on Street

Do you carry it facing rearward or toward the side? Just curious if it interferes with seating position or could scratch the rear cowl.
I wear it on my side when I ride. I find it the most comfortable and easiest access when riding. Just make sure the zipper closes towards the rear of the fanny pack when you wear it on you side. Otherwise the zipper will open when it catches air in the tiny opening at the leading side of the zipper.

used to, too. but if you crash and can't get up and your phone is 50 yards away from you... with a broken arm, collarbone and legs you can still make a phone call, if you get it out of your pocket.

Good point when riding alone.

Another tip when riding alone... let someone know about your riding plan(destination, time, etc.) and confirm your safe arrival after the ride.

I'm with you in principle and I'll leave it alone. I agree that all the gear all the time is the best solution, but a lot of us use these bikes as transportation in addition to fun riding and that introduces a whole other level of complication and logistics. Maybe I'll look into a kevlar suit and knee high dress shoes with sliders. :)

I ride my bike pretty much everyday, as long as the weather and plans for the day agree. It's really difficult to wear full protection when riding this often. My minimum requirements are helmet, riding jacket with CE armour (back protector included), riding boots, riding gloves. The only thing that I find it tough to wear are riding pants.

When I ride out on the weekends knowing that I take more "risk" I wear full or two-piece suit + gauntlet gloves.

Just like I have a minimum requirement, the requirements of others might differ. Just wanted to share what I consider the absolute minimum.

Just wanted to add that due to this discussion I was getting nervous wearing my jeans as I have been for years to go to work (only like 4 miles on 30mph roads). However, even that slow speed the conversation made me nervous as I have better gear, and it would be a shame to get hit by a car and have my riding pants and boots at home keeping my closet protected as I'm bleeding on the road. So for the last few days I've worn my Rev’it leather and mesh and Sidi riding boots. Hell, I change from my jeans to slacks at work anyway. And honestly is it much less a pain than I had figured, and already getting used to it like it is no big deal. And should make weekend rides better as I always had a period of time on the ride having to get used to riding with bulky pants rather than jeans. Now I'll be consistent. I feel better, safer, and doesn't feel like a hassle really. Just thought I'd share that since there may be some folks similarly situated.

Oh, and to be on point, I keep wallet in backpack and phone in front jacket pocket. Without backpack I bring just credit card and license and keep in front jacket pocket with phone.

Sometimes I wear the Dainese Drop leg pouch when I wear my leathers if I need to carry stuff besides my phone and wallet. I understand how wallets can get fat with all the stuff like Insurance Card, Drivers Lic, credit cards, ATM cards, medical insurance cards, cash etc. it can be a pain.

Where did you pick this up? I may get one too..

I looked at these drop leg bags for a bit and they look to all be basically the same and falsely labeled Dainese or Alpinestars and then marked up a bit. The basic generic unbranded one seems to be the cheapest, but I'm concerned about the build quality.

Anybody have one already and want to comment on it?

That looks pretty neat. I would rather use that instead of my strapped tank bag or backpack for a day ride. I may order this today just for the hell of it!

I was thinking about it too. I started looking into them when Mark and others were posting and I don't think it makes sense to spring for the Dainese or A* version since I am almost 100% sure they are fake knockoffs anyway and actually the same bag. I am really picky about bags and outdoor stuff like that so I was going to hold off, but like Mark pointed out - it's cheap enough that if it doesn't work out no big deal.

For my everyday backpack I need waterproofing and quality. But for weekend riding with leathers or jeans and I want to carry something light, this will suffice. I just bought it off eBay.

lol..so did I. I came to the same conclusion. This should work well for fun riding and I won't have to stuff my jacket pockets.

I bought mine a few years ago at the Dainese store in Costa Mesa, Ca. Exellent quality and comfortable to wear. The Dainese is actually not as big as the other one but it holds as much as a fanny pack.

Looks interesting to me as well.

Give us a quick review when you receive. I'm leaning towards ordering one but would like to hear a first hand impression on quality/features before I commit.

I would love to wear leather 1 pc every where, but the lazyness gets me (to be honest).

If I can transform like a superhero and change in a flash, that would be great.

i have a hard time wearing boots and pants all the time nevermind full gear. so tempted to wear sneakers and shorts. oh wait no shorts too much heat oh wait what heat. oh that heat no its gone oh its back. :p
i do not wear sneakers anymore and will always wear pants now. just too dangerous without that stuff on.

i guess i am commenting on the laziness honesty that was posted so i agree

:) I would have bought the Chinese one to save save a few bucks but at the time i bought mine there was no other manufacturer making them. Thank god for Chinese innovation :D

For me, bag like that, I wouldnt care about how cheap it is. It should do the job carrying few things I need. Chinese maker or not, this one will be ok with me.

Other things, I prefer non chinese production like my RS-Taichi leather suit. :D

Dainese new race suit looks so good!!!

Mine came in yesterday. Yep, it's kinda cheap looking and the zippers definitely aren't YKK, but it should hold up for what I am using it for. I'll report back once I ride with it a couple of times. It will definitely be easier for holding wallet, keys, phone, etc. since you can actually stop and get to those items without having to remove a backpack. I don't have a lot of confidence in the non-fastex buckles, but there are two straps (one waist and one leg) so I doubt it will go anywhere.
