i have a 1299....
I put some more kms on over the weekend and I think I am going to head past the dealership.
The upshift works fine, the downshift not so much, it really does not seem to blip very much at all, so consequently downshifts around 4 to 5,000 rpm are not too bad, but if you down shift at say 8,000rpm the bike really does lurch.
I also noticed that if you lightly touch the gear lever downwards (where it does seem to mechanically engage the next gear) then it will shift down and seem to blip but if you push the gear lever down through its range so it is mechanically engaging the next gear via the lever, then it changes down but does not seem to blip.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the gear shift is mechanical but there is a pressure sensor that momentarily cuts ignition to allow for the shift along with a throttle blip (or should be) to rev match as ignition comes back in so I am not sure how a light touch on the gear lever that activates the pressure switch but you can feel does not mechanically engage the gear translates into a downshift unless it is all electronically switched into gear changes.....
All I know is the last thing I want is a damaged gearbox from clutchless downshifts thinking the DS/QS has me covered when she aint working properly
