Hi guys, I'm planning on purchasing a Panigale S but with the 1.99% incentive, I kinda thought about buying the R. Reason being it has exhaust (which I was planning on upgrading) carbon fiber bits, brush aluminum tank, ABS etc.

What did you pay OTD?
What kind of negotiation did you talk about?
What type of "deal" will the dealer take? (First maint included, comfort seat stuff like that)
What's a reasonable offer they will take?
Is the exhaust installed when you buy it or you have to pay for installation after sale?

I know it's an exclusive bike and MSRP is 30k, but we all know not to pay MSRP. I'm located in the US so the number would be in dollars.

If you knew what you know now, what would you do differently?
Any buying tip is well appreciated.

Thanks

Asking for some information on purchasing price is not that personal. Asking your income on the other hand is… :)

Sorry i can't help! I purchased a base for 18000 otd!

I bought the R when it first came out so I had little negotiating leverage.
Paid just shy of 30K OTD plus $300 for the termi install for a $30,995 MRSP bike at the time.
Got the mirror removal and block off plates at no charge that's it.

You have the opportunity to look at existing inventories of 2013 bikes and see how long they have been parked on the showroom floor.

The 2014 R's are going up in price so finding a good deal on a 2013 might be the way to go. Make a low offer and if they can't do it they will tell you, if they need to move it they will oblige.
I had a 1098S and still have a S4RS, this bike though is the most fun bike I ever had the pleasure of riding and owning. :D
No regrets!

Buy the R, .... the price difference. Compared to other R models of the past the 1199R is a cheap bike. Worth the difference.

BTW I bought a 2013 for 28k OTD. Make sure they prep the bike and put the termis on for free.

Do you need to know what to have for breakfast tomorrow too"¦.or will mum work that out for you.

Just go and see some dealers and try to make a deal yourself. And confidential deals are usually the best.

Confidential is when you do not tell the world about it.

Seems like a reasonable question to me .

Wow some people just blow things way out of proportion! He is simply asking so he gets the best deal possible.

Does Ducati have a financing incentive on the "R" models, too? Was just on their sight yesterday and only thought the lower interest rate was for the Standard and S models....
And the one gent is correct, screw the dealer that won't install the Termi exhaust for you....Actually, they should shine your boots after washing your car for even considering to pay this much for an "R" bike...
Best of luck
Pat

I rather the sapphire black s1000 the hp4 is thee ugliest production sportbike ever!! Looks cheap mind you I like the asymmetrical lights just not the hp4 scheme and I prefer the smaller can on the akra full ti system

i think the s1000rr is the ugliest sports bike ever made. the hp4 is amazing though i guess we disagree.

I ordered mine before they were out (13) I paid $29,499.00 plus tax and tag transfer, $500 off MSRP including Termi installed mirror block offs, winglets, and stock exhaust.

S1000RR is ugly, but price/performance is stellar! +1 on hate for asymetric lights!

My dealer's website posted 30,995 for the 2014 R. Why is it $1500 more? What is different between the 13 and 14? I'll look for a 13 if I can find one, but I'm in no rush to buy. Does 1.99% incentive include the R? or is it Base and S only.

Haha I appreciate the offer Mark. I have rules when it comes to buying high performance cars and bikes, I won't buy them used. Not saying you neglect your bike, but I just rather pay extra for a peace in mind.

Why not keep both bikes, Panigale and HP4?

i am keeping them both just put the offer out there you never know. also to the guy that asked about the price difference. ducati is raising the prices even though no changes

The $1000 hike in price for the 14 R went to some expensive hazard lights and an improved version of Ducati's quality control......maybe lack thereof? =)
