Rapidbike review

Duly noted However!!!!!

No one I have seen on this forum is wanting to run at 2500 rpm? Hell the damn thing barely idles below 1800 rpm LOL...
But how about riding at 45 miles an hour (at about4800 rpm in second gear) and it bucks and kicks like it is going to stall? Of course I can run it in 1st at about 5500 plus rpm but it is ridiculousto have to do so..
You should not have to run an engine at close to half its rpm potential just to keep it from bucking and surging etc.while just cruising down the street on a casual ride to the store etc. Keeping the bike at 6K or higher rpm all the time not only adds a lot of unnecessary wear and tear on the motor it also keeps the temperature up there pretty hot.

Bottom line is the motor is NOT smooth at all at anything below about 5K on my bike and it is aggravating...in town or the highway (and at anything below 80mh 5th and 6th gear are not ever used ( unless I am either really speeding or on the track.)
In my opinion overall as a street bike the Panigale 1299 S sucks..

The motor is over built and runs far too lean and hot and the low rpm/speed fueling is atrocious..

Speedy

The Dragon Lady with her PCV and Autotune pulls smoothly from 2000rpm in 6th (ok her 42 tooth rear sprocket helps a bit)... :D

I've had really no time to ride due to work but have taken it out a dozen times on short rides.

Still starts up no problem, no stalling. Has not stalled at all on the street, before happened like 6-8 times. Runs nice and smooth. As said I'm a 3-4000rpm cruiser when putting around. It is 100% smoother than before.

Guys is the RB better than the Power Comander with an auto tune? I have the combo on a few of my bikes and really love it?

I've been running the RB for over a year now with zero issues.

If there are issues with the bike with or without the RB module, there is something wrong with your bike.

Sorry.

Thanks.... To be honest I haven't even gotten the bike yet. But reading all these threads is making me thing I might have some kind of fueling issue when I do. I just ordered the 1299S Anniversaro and not sure what to expect as this will be my first Ducati....

Has anyone noticed a reduction in heat after installing the rapid bike module? Theoretically it would fix lean fueling conditions which cause an increase in engine heat?

It seems to run cooler but no hard evidence of it. Last time out on a 90 degree day I did not roast my thighs. Didn't even think about it. Before I would chicken wing it many times on my ride.

Good luck..... It is just luck of the draw which one they send you.. If you get a good one then you are very lucky and will have no problems.. If you get one like mine then be prepared for a long period of aggravation and many visits to the shop..:(

This forum is as rabid fans of RB as of Rossi. I personally am using PCV with autotune and it runs brilliantly. :D

I highly doubt it's about all these rapidbike fans on this forum. I'm willing to bet it's more so about how every time someone mentions tuning solutions and then one person says rapidbike, tuneboy, etc., you quickly jump in with your biased opinion about how much better your pcv with autotune is so much better than anything else. I don't think enough people give a .... about which is better as much as they care about making their bikes run better than stock, which all of those do. We get it, you spent a ton on your setup, your tuner has fed you a one sided personal opinion about your pcv and to you, that is written in stone. Don't get in a pissing contest with a guy (Yaman) who knows his rapidbike product inside n out and try n convince him which is better. I'm almost certain even he doesn't give enough ..... but if you're going to climb that uphill battle, get your facts directly from the source before you take it from a guy who you pay to tune your bike with a solution from a competitor.

You are so funny. Bet you are a Rossi fan too? :D

I'm a fan of motorcycle racing. Rossi doesn't have .... to prove to any other pro racer, let alone spectators of the sport. I don't care who wins. I enjoy the sport as a whole.

The PVC doesnt even tune the off throttle to 10% range.up to around 3000 rpm ( the low band O2 sensors range) .. Unlike the Rapid Bike, the PVC doesn't send a signal to the factory ECU telling it that everything is within factory specs(and trickin git into not changing back to factory specs.) so from what I have read the Ducati ECU ends up over riding whatever changes the tune up your tune guy installs.. (Unless he has the knowledge to modify the ECU)..
Power Commanders are old news... The tuners like them because they know how to work their programs and many do not have the knowledge or the extra software to use the more modern self tuning modules like RapidBike or Tune Boy..

Whatever makes you happy. Another Rossi fan I presume?

Just for interest my bike's ecu has been race flashed and the tuner that does the PCV with autotune on my bike does most of the championship winning bikes in South Africa with the old outdated PCV and add ons. Oh and no I do not race, I have my bike just for the pleasure of it.
