RCS17 on the V2 — Need your input

It looks like the RCS17 is the better choice between it and the 19 for piston ratios on OEM calipers. Also, lots of installs mention needing to delete the right hand button cluster and replace it.

Are there any other considerations or gotchas with this install? Will I need a new reservoir? Tubing? Banjo bolts? Will the Ducabike RH 4 button switch leave enough room for the new master?

Bonus: For those that have tried the RCS17 and 19, how did one feel vs the other?

Appreciate any tips from those who have managed to do this. TIA!

I’ve tried the 19 (CNC version) and 17 RCS CC on my V4. I’ve no idea if the general setup is the same but for my bike I put the OEM reservoir bracket on top of the steering damper mount and it worked fine. Different controls were needed for lever clearance. Stock tubing, etc - just took the OEM one off and put the new one on.

Assuming your bike has the same 30mm pistons, then Brembo recommend the 17. I liked the very direct feel of the 19 but it obviously has less modulation than the 17 and so I stuck with the 17 as it provided more feel.

Might want to try different vesrah pads as well. I used them on my RS660 with a 17RCS CC and GP4RX calipers which have the same 32mm pistons as our V2s. The Vesrah SS and ZZ pads had more initial bite that upset the first few feet of each braking zone. The older Vesrah RJL (no suffix) pads and the Brembo Z04s offer more linear power per mm of lever pull.

Thanks for this. I was going to get a set of Z04s and test them side by side with the RJL-XX

I, as well. Huge improvement in feel. But I go with the MKII GP 19x18.

Stock master is 18mm and I found I can still get the same stiffness with the RCS 17 by clicking the fulcrum ratio to 20. I believe I can get 19mm performance this way but atleast the 17 gives the option to click down to 18 which gives very light and controllable braking. I confirmed this with an OBDStar and scoped real time brake pressure.

Interesting. Thanks for the data. I like the non-adjustable ones. 19x18 is working great for me. Though I may upgrade the rotors.
