Riding position

They fit me fine, but that's me. They have 3 horizontal positions, 2 vertical, without looking like holes everywhere. The shift peg slides (no holes), so alot of adjustment. The pegs are very sticky, almost hurt to touch with your hand - and can fold up optionally.

Did you have Barry at KFG to your set-up? If not, you might want to have him do it, $50 well worth it. BTW, I can't hang with the Race Seat or the Comfort Seat. Both WAY too tall. I threw a Luimoto cover on the stocker and am very happy. Also have the TechSpec tank pads which are excellent.

Yes I did, but it wasn't Barry, he was out that day. I don't remember who the guy was that did it, but seemed knowledgable. They had issues with the preload and not sure they set the sag as it should be. They also didn't like the DES and felt that it had a narrow range of adjustability. I'm going over there tomorrow to see if they can swap the rear spring.

I agree about the seat. I really like how it feels, but it's amazing how an inch of foam can change your position so much. I think the Luimoto cover will help without any added foam/gel. Also looking into different rearsets perhaps. Changing the clip ons seems like an ordeal, so not sure.

I have set the sag and then recovered the stock seat with Luminoto cover and inserted the gel.
Have LSL pegs in the standard position. I also fitted some Gilles bars which are higher.

So where did you get the gel insert for the seat, that sounds like a good addition?

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I have the same complaints as everyone on this thread, I've been tracking my bike (three so far) and have a hell of a time going light on the grips because of body position. I also went to the 41T rear before the last session and didn't even think about the added rear height. i'm only 5'7" so I'm guessing dropping the tail down a little will help me a lot. Getting a good shop to set up my suspension in April so I'll do it then.

I got it direct from italy from Lumimoto they have site you can order from. Its a bitch of a job though as you have to carve up your seat.

Pretty quick mailing service.

Usually the rear end rider sag is about 30mm. In other words when you sit on the bike it should drop approx 30mm. Ive seen a lot of club racers set their sag 33-36 mm. You do this by adjusting the preload on your springs and yes get the springs for your weight! I found that the Pani rear suspension is so stiff the sag barely moved when I sit on it. My height and weight is similar to yours. If you get the sag right your body position gets a lot better you feel more in the bike. As the bike rear end squats the bars will get a little taller reducing the wrist and lower back pressure.

Motorcycle Suspension Setup

I had the ride height and rider sag changed today. Still have the DP race seat and Rizoma rs. IIRC, he lowered the height 3 turns or about 4mm (8mm at the seat). He also changed the sag to 34mm front and either 36 or 38mm in the rear, I may be a little off here but it seemed like a lot. The seating position is much better, more comfortable. Also, I put about 250 miles on today. Feels "ok" for the street, but on the soft side which is strange since he didn't adjust compression/rebound. I don't think it will be any good at the track though. Will see.

YouTube

Just watched the video.

this work is not Impossible but will be pain in the ass.

I did it, it takes some time but it is worth it. I put the luimoto cover and the comfort gel under\\\\\\\, so a good grip and is more comfortable. I can put some 300 miles in few hrs and it is not as bad :)
