Second maintenance countdown

So I started getting a daily countdown to my second maintenance on my 21 V2 a couple weeks ago but I was over 1000miles less than the 7500 mile interval called out by the owner’s manual. I asked the service guy at my dealer and he said wait until closer to the mileage setting. Now the countdown has expired and the service light is on but I’m still about 700 miles out. Anyone else experienced this? Wondering if riding it hard accelerated the service notification? I plan on asking them to just do the service early because having that alert on the dash is distracting. TIA.

I never heard of this or seen before and turned off the service light when the odometer read 0 miles.

the service writer where i bought mine told me that the time/annual countdown starts from the last reset (ie the first service in my case.)

Imho, 7500 is a bit too long with the clutch plate debris swimming around in the oil.

Yeah I'm getting it serviced next week regardless of mileage.

Hi, I had to replace my cluster from a faulty one on a panigale 959 and a technician was able to match my initial km but the oil reset mileage (when you first turn the ignition) now shows
- 34200KM ..? How can this be reset? I'm confused
