Severe issues with 2023 Panigale V4R. Need help.

Thanks both of you. To change the cyclone seperator, they removed the tank and in the v4r, there is a big hole in the front frame to easily access the seperator.

My 1199 had oil in airbox. I think a common issue with a cyclone kit upgrade fix. I did that and reduced oil level far below the sight lines. Problem solved. I ride very aggressively and commonly wheelie. I think there is a pvc vent line from vertical cylinder to the cyclone thing that was loose on mine as well.

I'm going to suggest making sure oil level is on the low end. It's likely high rpm and riding style issue.

I might have a similar problem as yours. What is the cyclone kit upgrade?

More head flex and access to the separator, now that's engineering. Can't see the thing on the earlier bikes. Where's my hole saw? All I know is mine does not put oil into the airbox. And multiple people on this forum use these exclusively for track use and I don't remember anyone else having this issue. One thing for sure these do not like being overfilled with oil.

Mine was not a universal kit. Ducati had a recall in which a superceded cyclone/separator and return hose kit was made available. The kit replaced the original stuff that goes between the airbox and crankcase for oil mist to be captured and sent back to crankcase oil.

Research PCV system to understand it generally. Oil in airbox happens when the system is overwhelmed and this then is seen at the drain line at bottom of bike

The 1199 is moving 600 cc's of air as it comes downstroke. So if the crankcase volume is low it'll pulse pressurize the case. The V4's are only moving 275 cc and due to the architecture have more case volume and is actively scavenged.

Yeah. I like Ducati engineering and I have a Streetfighter v4 from 2022 which doesnt have any of this issue and a blast to ride. Only wished the v4r was better considering I spent a bomb on this bike. They said they fixed some airbox gasket gaps and will return the bike tomorrow. Will post the details here after the ride.

Also the oil level was set to Min, to avoid blowby, but its still leaking.

How long after the engine was shut off was the oil level checked? If it was less than 2 hours, it's ...... up and wrong. The V4 is VERY different from other Ducati engine in how you check the oil level.

Yes. I've read the manual. 3-4 hrs after turning off the bike with bike held straight with both tyres on ground. Heres the pic when it was set to min. Post the oil leak, there was no oil shown here.

Crank vent hose kinked?

Looks like there’s a “crank chamber pressure sensor” somewhere on the engine per the 23 V4R service manual. Maybe when you’re at the dealer you can see if DDA finds that sensor and has a read out

I have the DDA software but not surr if that software can read it. What does Crank Chamber sensor do?

Fixing the airbox gaps won't fix this. Probably make it worse as the airbox will be at slightly lower pressure. My airbox seals had so many gaps around where the intake/filter assembly joins the front frame RTV'd them as I reassembled.

How would it affect it. They said they will replace the airbox gasket too.

If the airbox is leaking around the filter (like mine was) the pressure in the airbox will be lower when the gaps are sealed and the motor is spooled up due to the restriction of the filter.

Will get the bike today. Let me see. At this point, if there is an oil leak, I will just rip bike and blast the engine to get a new bike. Too irate that the Ducati Svc and Italy both cannot figure out the issue.

When ripping the bike to its max (not redline, just changing gears at indicators and keeping 6th gear pinned), can the blowby air, push oil into airbox and throw it down the breather hose connected to the airbox? I was ripping my SF v4s 2022 on track today, and when pushing it to its limit, I saw a smal amount of oil leak from the same breather pipe like the v4r. After 30 min of cooling down, and riding sanely, it didnt leak any oil for another 30km. Again let it cool down and started ripping, and saw the oil being thrown again from the breather hose. What do you think is the possible issue here?
