Should I get one?

the 899 might be the "better" bike for a racer on slow courses chasing tenths for lap times.

the 1199 might be the better bike for any rider on any track (or road) going WFO and having a semi-permanent grin transplanted into his face for the next three days.

why buy the less powerful, heavier bike with no TFT dash and a DSSA for more $ ?

:D

now i want to test ride a 899 nonetheless.

:(

That's what some of my sentiments were. There's still A LOT of my R1 I can't use and it scares me all the time...but it's a learning experience every time. I feel the 899 would be predictable, smooth, and a perfect bike for what I want...but can I get that something MORE for the same price...the small amount that scares you but keeps you straight. We'll see...I've never ridden a twin and I'll get a good idea riding em back to back.

I think I'll take the 899 out first though for sure...then see everything additional the 1199 has to offer ;)
