So... North American buyers...

Anyone got any updates from their dealers yet? I was told the Ducati internal system updates when the bike is on the boat, and should arrive within 2-3 weeks after that. In the system mine still shows Feb delivery. So it should be updating any day now. I'm anxious, obviously. But just wondering if any of you who ordered the S or base got an update yet?

Nope, to be honest I would expect it in March. I'm kind of bummed since I have a trackday on the 25th. I'll debut my V4 in March.

First bike has to be on the boat, then bike lands in the port and then gets inspected, THEN has to travel to the west coast for us. This is why I would keep your expectations low and save up for mods.

That would indeed be a bummer. After all, Ducati specifically tried to mitigate delays for the v4's with the new ordering system.

My mods are starting to trickle in already. Just waiting on the bike.

Dealer told me Saturday that their status still shows pending. As mentioned before he told me that the next step would be on the water then in transit.

I was told late Feb/early March as well. I contacted my dealer last week inquiring about updates, but he had nothing new at the time. I placed a deposit on a S back in the beginning of Jan

He did tell me, once the bikes are loaded for transport overseas they will notify me, be assigned a bike and given the VIN . Which i could use to get a true insurance quote at least.

So the reality is that the update in our order list showing the bike is on a boat is not automatic, don't beat your dealers up over that, it's not their fault and they have no other way to get the information. That only happens IF Ducati North America has already allocated the specific bike to us at that point. On a brand new model coming in, and with Ducati saying they're going to prioritize "pre-sold" orders on the first delivery, they'll likely wait until the bikes are at the port in New Jersey before we'll know for sure what's coming to each dealership in the first shipment. I'm being told that the first bike or two MIGHT be here in our store before the end of February, but it's not going to be a large shipment. So we'll likely get our demo model and maybe 1 or 2 more pre-sold bikes, and that's it. Another shipment is expected in March.

I asked my local dealer today and he was told by Ducati that he should be getting a Base and S model by the end of the month. His next allocation will arrive in April and then again in June.

Hope you didn't use those 'hard nose' tactics on poor old Jarel to purchase anything like you have suggested in the other buying thread! Price is always not the best thing to chase as far as i'm concerned if your spending your hard earned pennies.

Perhaps every dealer is different then. I was told for my dealer, 2 s and 1 base in Feb, 2 s and 1 base in March, 1 s and 2 base in April, and a speciale in may.

LMMFAO no man, I don't know him like that ...just saying what up because I remember the name from back in the early days and I used to live in the Midwest too.
On another note, my dealers contact me with deals and incentives sir... Because I spend money and I bring them customers. Honestly I'm one of the most visible Ducati owners around and in turn my reputation sells bikes (not to tute my own horn).

That's exciting news, my dealer is having their reveal party March 2nd and demo rides the 3rd. I bet they get their first S that same time and probably on the same boat as yours .

My dealer is doing the same on March 2nd & 3rd - Cross County Cycle in NJ. I can't wait for a test ride!

The national "Season Opener" event is March 2nd/3rd, which most dealers will participate in. The event is the "unveiling" of the V4 along with showcasing the new Multistrada 1260 and Monster 821.

So... North American buyers...
