G’Day there you lucky .......s, spare a thought for us poor guys down in Australia. This is not a joke, but the best excuse I have seen for a delay. Thought you would get a chuckle. A “stink bug”!
The downside of living on an island continent, I guess.
This from our Ducati importer in Australia.

“We regret to advise you that we’ve received information from our freight forwarder in Sydney regarding emergency measures that have been applied to goods shipped and/or shipping from Italy by the Department of Agricultural.

We have been advised that, as a result of numerous detections of BMSB (Brown Marmorated Stink Bug), all containerised goods shipped via sea cargo from Italy that arrive in Australia between 17 January 2018 and 30 April 2018 will be required to undergo an approved treatment onshore.

Unfortunately, we have already 2 containers affected by this new procedure, which are still in queue at the port waiting to be treated/fumigated against this bug. As expected, the port and the Customs are experiencing already significant delays in processing shipment coming from Italy, which unfortunately will cause further delays on delivering the bikes from our end.

We are working closely with our freight forwarder and the Port Botany Customs to speed up in any possible way this process and to reduce as much as possible any further delay.

After the 30th of April 2018 the normal Customs procedure will be reinstated.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we strongly suggest you pass this information to your customers.

We will keep you posted on any further notice and update”.

Congratulations to all of you with bikes coming in. I can't wait to see all of the pics and hear the reviews. By all accounts, it sounds like you guys will be very happy.

Longtime lurker, first time poster and (soon to be) first time Ducati owner here.

Good news for U.S.-based west coasters: I've been told that my V4 base is on the boat and will arrive in the Bay Area in the first week of March. Hopefully those of you who have orders in will be getting calls shortly if not already.

That is, if Nitrouz doesn't hijack the boat... :p

Cheers!

It really sounds like a joke but taking into consideration present Australian strict customer clearance procedure I am not surprised. As you said, that is a privilege to live in big island faraway from Italy :)

Decisions decisions, buyer backed out on the S that's scheduled to be ready for pick up on March 3rd and I am next in line if I wanted it . I'm usually a spontaneous buyer and tend to buy whatever I want but, I'm trying not to be impatient lol.
I'd honestly much rather get the base model and splurge on the full exhaust, I think it's better bang for the buck.
Let's hope I stay focused when I see her at the reveal party and demo day lol. (Demo bike is a base V4 with full exhaust).

Cost for the full exhaust? I look forward to reading about your impressions on the Demo bike!

I was quoted $4770 and $690 labor for full system. My rep actually suggested I do the labor myself then at first service pay one hour labor to have them upload the mapping for the full system. Apparently the service tech has to do that part and it’s tied to your actual Vin number

I always preferred the analog suspension over the electronic, but this time you can seperately adjust corner entry, mid corner, corner exit... Wow, this one makes me curious.

My Dealer on East coast says its supposed to be in this week. Crossing my fingers. Deposit on a V4S.

Shouldn't upmap be done at same time?
Changing exhaust and not modifying ECU can lead to lean conditions and potential engine damage?
