hey bowdy

is the full system worth purchasing? most say its no better then the slip on but i notice you said its on your no.1 bike.

any reason? is there performance gains over slips

For racing yes, slightly less torque but more top end, have dyno figures for the bike now with the up map and full system and filter we got 187bhp, with fuel mapped and some timing changes we achieved 193bhp. But as we all know its dependent on a number of things... These are good figures and the bike feels strong...

If its for the road I'd just fit slips... But that's me...

None of this makes sence .

can you axplain why it does not make sense? ..

i you want abs, you can't use a base, no? for us in EU, a "base" has no ABS.. and if you have to get a non abs base to get abs, you have to change the electronics. I don't know many packages that will add abs 'cheaply', so the price gap between the R closes fast... add all the extras ( dda, gps, open termi, ... ) and the difference is not that huge anymore...

the ABS 'S' version is just 8K euro cheaper than the R... i'm sure by the time you get it to R spec, including the hassle, servicing, los off time.. it won't be that much cheaper...

if it would have had the previous 15-18K difference price gap with the R, then it would make no sense at all to go R.

i'm glad you confirm the 193 bhp..

as this is exactly what this says... same engine on the same configuration and mods..
filter, full termi, rapidbike race module and a whole day of mapping..

No Base+ABS in EU very odd. Did Ducati think they wouldn't sell there?
Thanks

?????? Not quite sure of the answer to this conundrum ....

Good luck. Thanks for sharing all the details and photos. Looks like you put a lot of heart, time and money into your Pani- bike looks real good. Let us know if there is anyone streaming online coverage of your races. Good luck, again.

Rear shock, blown seal, made a mess, almost crashed in the heyshed... Ran flat 40 yesterday, had a night mare today... And if that's not enough Pirelli gave us the wrong compound rear.... Also lost 1 qualifying session..

Fitted the spare ohlins last thing before pack up...

Have warm up at 9 am so will test the bike then... Got to tell you the bike was bad today. Was very close to stacking it...

Will be live streaming to tomorrow if your not there

Bowdy

So, up-date on this weekend, I like Philip island and normally go well here, the had the settings in the bike from our test and Pirelli have brought some "special" tyres for the superbikes.

Practice was open for tyres so we chose to stay on the ones fitted to the bike from the previous test, had a nightmare in tec-spec, I'm the only pani in the national paddock and they chose to be difficult about the inner belly pan... This seems to be the paten for the weekend... First practice was great, very windy but ran a 1:40.3 which is not bad given the state of the track at turn 2... Having some problems with the bike pumping at the back, but it was not too bad..

Lost first qualifying due to the super sport boys crashing... 5 in total...

So finally got out to qualify, had fitted the new "special" Pirelli, the rear shock failed on the second lap, the tyre needs more heat to work and the rear was in simple terms (....) was pumping due to the shock loosing oil and nitrogen, so no drive out of the corners, tried to put a quick lap in, almost crashed... 1:52... But bike is still ok...

Fitted new shock... Will test again in warm up at 8:55 this morning, you can live feed our times on the net if you are interested to see how much we improve today... Might be starting at the back of the grid.. An unfamiliar place.. Will make for an interesting race...

Keep you all up to speed over the next day or two...

Bike feels better, have turned the TC off... Making the bike pump through heyshed own the new tyre... Hmmmm
