Some track day prep questions

What do you mean by TDs? Are you referring to the DOT Supercorsa SC? The track-day tyre that’s road legal because it has some tread? If so then that’s the one I have been using.

Interesting if the SC3 compound in the DOT is not the same as the SC3 compound in the slick. Makes me wonder what the SC3 compound used in the SP is… 🫣

Sorry sorry. Not TD. I meant DOT SC3 with the siping 🤦‍♂️ I think the guy was interchanging the names. I just told him I’ll go with whatever you recommend and have a set of the DOT SC3s waiting for end of April trackday. I didn’t think about the different names until just now

I think you’ll enjoy them.

you need to read up about it.....
mapping A
mapping B

different levels of intervention..

engine power high medium low...

Its all there to set to what you want...

but still get it added any way. 😁

Don't tell me you're one of those white Karens who show up at the trackday with 40k Ducati in slicks and after first novice session runs to organizer complaining that someone overtook you too close on track

most trackday orgs specifically say no overtaking under brakes minimum passing distance 2m, obviously it's bit different for the A group but the whole idea is that its a "track" not a "race" day

Also heres a quick guide for TD pressures Motorcycle Trackday Tyre Pressures - 2024 Guide

Most in the UK mate and it has to do with insurance $$$

No one cares how you overtake with Rehm BikePromo or any Italian organizer.

if you do dodgy stuff every lap, they will black flag you for sure.

but if you overtake someone on a braking into the turn - who cares, its adult event not a covid vaccination center ffs

but thats the point .....whats the point in passing someone that late......apart from to win inters!

if you are that much quicker then it would be earlier....... if the timing of respect is wrong then do it going out of the corner on the widening side.....

Every track day I have been too makes it clear in the safety briefing passing is under acceleration only, for really obvious reasons. Some orgs even ban lap timers and cameras. Why you may well ask, because track days attract fuckwits with small cocks and big bikes like flies to ...., Dive bombing, chucking it up the inside it etc Is just annoying for others who turn up at looking to work on their technique or just have a great day out. Of course, some bad boys out there need to massage their ego by winning inters

Yep. No passing in the braking zone to apex. Recipe for disaster. Though if someone passes me on the outside in those areas, I’ve got no problems with that as long as you give me.

Service is done and EV03 installed.

I took everything apart and put on the bars from Extreme Components… There doesn’t seem to be enough brake line available – it’s very tight and I am unable to turn the levers down enough, perhaps due to less offset. Very frustrating. Plug and play they said…

Removing the front lights… I’ve removed the two screws in the back, the two screws in the front, disconnected the main connector and the connector that the workshop manual says is for the air temp sensor. The light will not slide out…

It looks like there is a connector in the way. I cannot see any way to remove the connector and there’s nothing about it in the workshop manual.

Also, cables are clipped onto the resonator on each side - the manual makes no mention of these but they appear to need to be disconnected from the resonator (not quite sure how the clips come off).

Any tips would be appreciated. I read the workshop manual before starting and it looked very straightforward, but it seems that the manual doesn’t quite cover it…

As an aside, I was surprised to find that the EVO3 software still has menu options for lights and indicators. I’d seen people saying that you lost the lights with this software but, if that was the case, it seems to have been updated.

The difference between just putting something on the bike and actually fitting it

Have you lightly cracked the banjo on the master to rotate it so the pipe clears around the fork?
Also you can move the master inboard a little to elevate the pipe length and the bonus is you pull on the longer part of the lever for better application.

I considered rotating the banjo but even with the master cylinder as tight inboard as possible the brake lines still look a bit too tight and rotating the banjo forward is, if anything, going to make that worse. There’s a significant difference in the tightness of the lines between OEM and the new clip-ons.

I think I need to stick with standard offset to use the standard lines - when the clip-ons are forward mounted the master cylinder can come more inboard than is possible with these ones.
