Karma is a bitch haha 😂 You friggin noobs can’t install some basic fairings? That’s easier than installing a seat

According to andy suck it up and fix it yourself. Oh you paid thousands of dollars for pleasure of getting bent over

Karma for what exactly? Did I run over your dog or something?

The fairings are being fitted and I accept that aftermarket is never the same as OEM, so I’m making them work - it’s only a little work to do but annoying nonetheless. Nothing needs fixing - just some slight adjustment.

I’ve no idea how you figure that putting fairings on is easier than installing a seat. A seat has just two screws… I’d say that putting a sticker on is even easier than installing a seat, but look at the mess you made of that (twice). 👍

You’re a rather sad little man.

Ready for this weekend at Most and the weather’s looking like it should be good. Garage tidy up now needed but that can wait.

I’ll order new clip-ons and do that before the next track event at Brno in a couple of weeks or so.

Just finished a great weekend at Most. It’s such a fun circuit.

First time on track with the R and I’m so glad I got it. I had checked the coolant (as the dealer didn’t bother when they did the first service) and set it to the low marker. Three days on track and it’s still exactly on the low marker.

8 seconds better than the first time I went to Most but I don’t see any problem getting a few more seconds off that with a clear track and I understand where to improve further and how to do it - all I have to do is actually do it, but I’m happy with small steps. I feel like I’m starting to make progress in terms of technique and the last session was great fun. No dramas or issues and no scary moments.

First time on slicks as well and I went with V02. Really glad I tried them and I won’t be going back.

If any tyre whisperers (with actual experience) want to read the tyre wear then feel free. I don’t think it was too bad. It looked smoother all over the tyre before the last session, where I got held up in the corners during the last couple of laps or so.

Agreed. Looks perfect. What kind of lap times were you doing?

Looks like a sweet track!

It’s a lot of fun.

I did 2:01.70

That lap had only 48 degrees of lean and max 90% throttle - working on body position and various other things. It will be interesting to see what it comes down to on my next visit as things hopefully start to come together. Under two minutes will be easy to do safely. Under 1:50 takes a bit more commitment. Anyone under 1:49 is certifiable…

Rae set the lap record (last year I think) at a hair under 1:31

We missed one session on the final day because a Marshall fell out of his box… they had to get an air ambulance onto the track to take him away. 🫣

We also missed half of the next session while the Marshalls located a GoPro that had fallen off someone’s bike…

I witnessed a huge crash during a race that another group were having. At the entrance to turn 17 a guy locked the front and continued into the gravel, which threw the bike and rider way up into the air. The rider ended up all the way to the end of the gravel and his bike flew over the guard rail beyond the gravel. Horrendous. No air ambulance for him so he must have been reasonably ok, but he was on the ground and not seeming to move for a long time.

Regarding clip-ons, Spider reckon that their 50.42V4 are the ones to use with OEM lines. 42mm offset and so they put the bars ahead of the forks, like the OEM ones. I wonder if getting new lines that are a couple of inches longer would be a better way to go, maybe more economical and allow use of the Extreme Components clip-ons… I don’t think that slightly longer lines would affect ABS…

Using Spider clip-ons with the OEM upper triple would mean they are a few mm lower on the forks. I know people who do this and say it’s not even noticeable. Of course, I could also install the Spider upper triple but the cost is then going up quite a bit for probably minimal benefit.

Yikes. You guys kept the air ambulance busy 😳

Been there on watching crashes. Never good to see. Had 2 riders collide in front of me as their riding lines crossed. Had to thread the needle between downed riders and bikes being skittled.

Changing that front brake line and clutch line seems like a real pain. You’ll be deep into the bowels of the bike to do that. And then you need to worry about rebleeding the ABS block. No thanks.

🙄 it’s hardly rocket science…

Clip-ons and upper triple arriving on Monday so I’ll be able to fit the switches, throttle and master cylinder.

That Pierobon website has some lovely looking stuff… 🫣 🤣

Brno for three days starts on 31 May - can’t wait to get back there.
