It's very nice. I always had to buy a speedohealer before. Now you can swap sprockets without having to buy one or calibrate it every time.

So the Tuneboy problem that seems to be glaring to me now is that every time a significant update becomes available the custom tune that I have on my bike becomes redundant, and has to be re-done based on the new map unless I've misunderstood how this all works.

I'm seriously considering putting my bike back to bog standard.

Dare I ask?? Including the pipe???

:) I'm having some issues with my current tune, which on top of the recent pipe dramas has made me a bit weary, all seems like too much hassle. Its tempting to put everything back to stock.

My tuning guys have made the bike run like a rocket ship under accelaration mid/hard throttle but we seem to have picked up a surging/hair trigger thing which spoils the ride at slow or cruise.

The combo of power and sound is intoxicating, much more so than with the slips, so I'm persevering and I'm going to do some good 'ol troubleshooting this weekend and note the rpm and speed to help them sort it out but its just something else I could have done without.

What's slow? A little clutch slipping helps depending on the speed.

I had my 41t rear sprocket kit fitted by my dealer, and they then installed a new map to suit, I said, is it the same as the R and he just smiled.

Anyway, makes a huge difference and is about as perfect as I want it.

Cheers

I was experiencing a similar issue but it's just disappeared on its own.

If you have the DDA installed, just switch it on when you next take it out and you can overlay rpm with speed to see where your spikes are.

Dda!

Wow amazing! Thanks! :D:D:D

Hadn't even thought about it! I do have DDA thank you so much for that, will be great to see some actual data!

...I didnt want to risk playing voided warrantee games so I waited. It was only a 5 min update...

I had my sprocket set up in January because neither dealer would install it without the update because of DTC, this and that, all kinds of ECU errors. Then one of them called in March and said they would do it. So, they installed it, but didn't have the map. I've had over 2500 miles since then and not one error do to it. DQS is a little more sluggish and that's all I can tell. I've called a few times since then and they both said they still don't have it. I don't care at this point.

The advice I have from someone who has looked at the code is that there is no difference in the program code (eg. DTC code / control) between the 205 and 206 updates. Differences are confined to subtle changes in the fuel/ign/throttles tables so DTC
_should_ be unaffected by the update to 206 or by the sprocket change.

This makes sense with the way our traction control works. I'm not sure why dqs feels different unless it is just unmasking an inherent problem that can't be adjusted for by an ecu flash. Or, it's all in my head. When they told me they wouldn't do it, I think that they didn't have any info from Ducati at the time and were just afraid to do it.

My guys have been talking to Tuneboy and they have set up an app so they monitor the engine while riding, so they can track the a/f mixture and other data while riding so should help diagnose the problem. Funny how they came up with this at the same tone Copiya made his suggestion.

What do they use to transmit the data? That sounds pretty cool...

low engine speeds are very sensitive to a smooth fueling map and a smooth and correct spark timing map.

if you tuners simply corrected the cells as the trim file indicated then it could be very spikey. a 3d graph is very useful in seeing the numbers relationships with respect to each other. sometimes it is better to have a cell slightly off with respect to trim in order to have smooth transitions over a larger section of the table. if that makes any sense to you...

did your tuner alter spark timing? if so, it might be wise to set low rpm sections back to stock and also make it smooth.

for instance, you don't want the numbers going from 30 to 45 then back to 34. I would change the 45 to 32.5....same principle to the fueling trims.
