It's not just you. We're all doing the same thing. Nice pics Jonah. Sucks you have to park that thing outside ! I'm hoping for delivery in the next few days. Wish me luck !

Only a temp measure whilst i was away, its now safely tucked up in my garage, and held in place with a ground anchor and chain along with a disc lock! never be too careful

Ah , ok , thanks again for the pics. It's all I have at this point !

While waiting, tested a Beemer.
I thought I was riding Angela Merkel : uncomfortable while being fat, with a slow and linear torque, but solid as a rock, and won't change it's mind once it decided on a direction. Quickly boring.

Imagine how the BMW guys feel....some bought the bikes and were contacted and told "DO NOT RIDE" the bikes as there is a bolt that can become loose.....then told to wait for the official "Recall" letter from BMW- then WAIT 'til the dealer sets up the service......that must be so frustrating!!!!!!!!
My friend has the 2012 and it just sits in his garage and worse yet no contact with BMW other than a call telling him to wait for the letter before proceeding to the dealer for the service...............that's gotta be tuff on a new owner!
(This is where the Japanese excel, Aprilia had faulty engines at one point on RSV4's, now BMW with this......sux!)

the bmw recall affects 5000 2012s, conn rod over or under torqued.

Aprilia was a small scale thing it only affected 200 factorys, but they did the right thing and replaced the complete engine.

After you ride the 1199 let us know if it compares with Hollande's wife Valerie Trierweiler. :D

She's not his wife, she's his girlfriend.

Hollande was never married, but lived with Ségolène Royal. Trierweiler slept with Hollande while he was still with Royal, and then, he left Royal for her. And now he's president. So, if being Trierweiler means stealing the crown to another bike, yeah, the Panigale is just that.

As for the bike itself, it is more nervous, more inciting, more dynamic, more wild. The Panigale is a bike with a soul where a soul is not a quirk, but really a soul. I mean, you'll have to negotiate the ........ with Merkel (and you won't have it) while Trierweiler will swallow without you needing to ask.

I still have to test the other bikes, but so far, the Panigale was my best ride.

How does the tail tidy deal with the wires? Any chance of a pic of the underside back of the tailtidy showing the wires?
Chris
