Think I'm going to pull the trigger on the R

what i was suggesting is not putting "what avatar do you guys think is best" threads in a forum meant for topics related to the 1199 Panigale. if i'm not mistaken, there's an area called the "Lounge" for topics such as those. what this place could use is a moderator/admin or two. i'm all for fun, senseless threads and the like, but at least put them where they belong, no?

back to whether or not the OP should buy a R or not.

Lighten up, Francis!!

couldn't agree more.. for those suits there are even specialized fora..
each to his own and for me whatever consenting adults wish to do is up to their own taste and liking.. but frankly my sense of beauty is greatly distrubed by having to look at some fistf..ck - scat suit... when i expect to see only ducati beautifulness.. ;)

Lol, welcome to the internet and memes. Although, I didn't even check if it was in the appropriate section. We had asked and nominated some mods for making sure things were in their rightful place etc.

It IS very important that DUC delegates some authority or this forum WILL FAIL. It happens far too often; admin gets busy, refuses to delegate, and the site falls apart

Scat suit??? Is that what it's called? How did you know that? you been to Germany for extended stays?

It's a gimp suit (as you know more along the lines of S&M, not scat), what's the point of "scat" if you can't rub it all over your body?

I concur. Totally pointless. By what about poor Kope? Does he ruin the integrity of his scat suit with his self described f*st f#^king?
How is he to enjoy both? It's a dilemma for sure. And he's very angry about it being discussed in the open. What might that imply?

Lol, I have nothing...

Trade in the S and just grab one. But for a few bits of carbon; my S is stock and flawless. Still will take a beating on the trade in but I'm not one to list things for sale and hope for a buyer

It's been a nagging thought for a while.

I'm a compulsive buyer. So....WTF....

RSR racer, for what is worth I totally understand you. Doing a jump from a base S to an R seems reasonable. If you earned the money for it then it is easy to rationalize.

I am adding a HyperMotard SP to my stable, different bike for a different reason - easy to justify.

Good luck.

I for one know what I want from the start. with my limited experience with motorcycles, I noticed that I love to accesorise heavily on my bike. but when the time to sell arrives, reality set in and I found out that no matter how much money you put in your bike, it will make little difference when you have to sell it.

So when the Panigale was launched, I knew that the R will come one day and I know that will be the bike that I want. Sure I could have gotten an S and added a full termi, perhaps some carbon bits and other accesories that will easily exceed the 30k mark. but when the time comes to sell, the 30k R will hold more value than a loaded s

I can't wait to get my R. For this year about 5 will come to The Netherlands. Mine will be the first one. I heard they scheduled a production total of about 2500 worldwide, but they lowered that number by quite a bit.

same here...

furthermore ...

frome someone attending the DRE in UAE apparantly the hotshot instructor who co - trialled the R said that even thoug on paper it does not show much difference , in reality the bike is just as big a step up from the S or TC then all other R's... :)

Pretty sure they will build as many as the market demands. Then; comes the launch of the RS!:D

My R came in at the dealer. Just 5 coming to The Netherlands and they are all sold. Some parts need to installed. The full Termi system, alarm, tankpad, tail tidy and higher windscreen.

RSR, it's awesome you are getting an R!! I sure hope to see you at the track. We have a bunch of days at Pocono too this year, nice little technical track. I owe you some one on one time brother!

djeezes... can't wait it have mine... still a month down the road.... :(

I was just notified that mine has arrived at the dealer and only need prepping. :D however, the weather forecast for the next few days is -12 celcius and still a lot of ice and snow around.

My R is the second one in the photo. Delivery hopefully on Saturday if the weather is reasonable. It is still very cold here. First R on the road in The Netherlands.
