The value of the electronic suspension will depend on individual needs, but for my daily riding routes (and especially on longer trips), I have found the ability to make suspension adjustments on the fly an incredibly useful feature. Interlinking suspension adjustments with the other adjustable settings on the bike provides an enhanced ability to substantially alter the character of the bike to best suit immediate riding conditions. It is certainly far from a gimmick add-on by my estimation, but may offer less value to riders who do not do as much riding on public roads.
That is true - individual mileage may vary.I adjust my suspension once and that's it. The stock Marzocchis are surprisingly good. I'm still not convinced on a fairly new technology. Any issues after warranty would be an expensive fix.
@OP The answer depends on your wallet. Just a perspective - The extra $8k over the base is almost 50% of the value. Would you spend that much on a bike which lets probably is less than 5% faster ? In fact (correct me if I'm wrong) the base is lighter and faster than the S.
