I realize its hard to sympathize due to the fact that most people with affluent fathers, the father would hop right in with a few G's and take care of this for them. but my father is very principled and he warned me just like some people on here that if I bought an Italian exotic, it would likely break down, and he would not be there to help with any repairs as I he knows I was overextending myself based on my salary. he knows my salary because I work for one of his companies lol...he signs the checks so to speak. he worked is way from 25 years old having one truck to owning a company that has 2000 and does 100M a year in gross revenue. he understands the value of teaching me how to work hard and accept responsibility for my actions and that is exactly what is happening right now. he said "well if the bike has to sit for a year while you save then it has to sit...sorry"...I am not asking for any sympathy...I didn't even resurrect this thread...to speak in platitudes, it is what it is. im dealing with it the best I can.

You didn't resurrect the thread...But you asked for the original to be deleted..Causing much consternation.... and now you are back posting again... Its seems you enjoy the drama/fame or infamy...depending on ones point of view..... I need a bigger bag of popcorn....

I just made this decision about 30 minutes ago: I will have Sebastian tear down the motor ($617) and diagnose the cause of failure. if its a bearing that is scored and clearly something from abuse (doubt it) then I will go from there. if its clearly something that shouldn't have happened we will go back to DNA with the findings. hopefully if the latter is the case, then Sebastian will go to bat for me and push DNA to cover. we will see. but not moving in any direction anytime soon is driving me insane. I have to get something going.

that sound like a plan

And this train is never late :)
I start having feeling that you work for ducati. any time somebody has something negative to said about ducati you will show up attacking the person
. go for it start with me

I believe you don't understand the fact, I complaint to Ducati about their decision in regard this gentleman's bike. I don't care If the guy was doing stopping or what ever. Ducati sell him a race bike their promoted their bike at the track, they pay for you to go a professional rider school, their give you tires warmer (who need tire warmer in the novice group) but if you .... your clutch their will look at you tires to see if you take the bike to track lol .take a look at this Ducati promotion (yes the one you saw at the dealer and the salesperson tell you that this is the best race bike in the planet and if you buy now you will look like the guy in the poster.:D

No I understand the facts you complained about a bike you read about on the internet and expected a response from Ducati.

Also Ducati have zero issues with you tracking your bike and covering it under warranty but the issue lies with the fact that you cannot enter it into a timed
event and expect it to be covered.

If I'm not mistaken the OP had it in some 1/4 mile runs and if they were official and times then you have no warranty.

There you go art. Thats a great place to start. They can tell right away once they get in there.

Smart move. 617? Wow thats cheap. Thats a big job just tearing it down.

Hopefully a positive outcome will happen!

he does not work for D..... and secondly, the OG OP is a confused boy: is he lawyering up? is he saving his pennies to pay? is his dad paying? put another way: PICK A FUKN STRATEGY AND STICK WITH IT!

I already did that a few posts up........

I did have it removed per the advice of a fellow member which was a good idea. evidently this issue is pretty important/entertaining to some people as it was resurrected. and clearly me requesting the first one to be removed was pretty much as waste of time since it got brought right back up so .... it. may as well continue to share since people are so interested. on a side note, I appreciate the positive and encouraging responses in relation to my case at hand. I understand some people have no issues dropping 10k for a repair and that's great for you. im happy for you. but I'm not in that position. I continue to comment because I am curious to hear what everyone has to say about this issue. isn't that the entire point of a forum? to share and learn? rhetorical question.

Smart move Art. Hopefully when Sebastian gets into it, it's not as bad as you thought. Also at that point may be he has more information to go back to Ducati with. You know he will take care of you. It's progress.:)

this is the type of comment I appreciate. thanks Soulrider. I hope it works out. and it is progress towards my ultimate goal. the motor has to come apart at some point. I don't want to wait 3 months for a Lawyer to demand it so im skipping that part for now. when we know whats wrong we can re-..... the situation.

I wonder if all the bikes that ducati allows to be tested by all the mags and tv shows have voided warranties...those were timed...again............ now if I was running the bike every weekend, by all means...but that's certainly not the case lol.

Easy tiger

They are not official timed events where you register and enter an official track number etc, I really don't see why it's so difficult to comprehend.

Also all the journal bikes when sold to the public have a full service and come with a new warranty so if it does go bang you are covered

This thread is not about he op is about getting you warranty denial for doing what the bike was design and advertiser.

i am well aware of that....it's all devolved into another pathetic thread, again...and the capitulation proves principle is not the vital deciding factor here, but, alas, instant gratification is...

so you are telling me that if a put a lap timer on my bike and record my lap my warranty will be void.
let me clear this for you.
1-if you race with other to get a prices you are not cover
2-if you go to salt lake and go for the speed record you are not covered

but if you got to a 1/4 mile track with you own money and pay to know how fast your bike is it should covered otherwise if you go to a Dyno you will void you warranty lol

its not difficult to comprehend. I understand the verbiage used protects them. but did the engine not undergo the same stress in the timed quarter mile done by magazines as if you or I did the quarter mile? ive never entered any competition. only gone down the 1/8 track a few times on ONE evening. its a little local track and that night was a "test and tune" night, not a race night with any places or rankings given. but it really doesn't matter i "comprehend" the issue just fine. its just ...... that Ducati boasts its new fast bike and quick quarter miles times/lap times etc etc but nobody else is allowed to do what they do whilst still retaining their warranty.

i have to completely agree with you on this.

I'm not sure why you find this so hard to understand but

You are not covered for any official timed event as this is classified as racing you running your owned stopwatch is not official

This means that track days are covered under warranty as you are not racing nor is it a timed event.

I'm not sure why you are referencing a dyno as it's used for tuning
