I got my 1199S back in May 2012. My first mod was the DP Tail tidy complete with one little piece of CF. Since then I have been gradually adding all the fashionable things we all did when starting out in this forum. Next was the DP alt cover and clutch cover etc etc Since then I have fitted Gilles clip ons (raised the bars a little) full Akrapovic Ti Evolutiion system, a 520 chain conversion, forged magnesium wheels and enough Ti bolts and screws that Sherman at Proti can retire to the Bahamas. I also to the bike up to Wayne Tuneboy and he did his magic on the dyno getting the best out of my Akra system and added cruise as well.

There used to be a guy on here called xBox that was always looking for ways to lighten the bike. I never thought much about it but as time went on I liked the idea of making the bike lighter. So that has been my aim for the last few years. I have built up a lot of parts and never seem to get time to fit them. Anyway time to get into it. So after my ride today with my old Ducati I started to clean up around to workshop in preparation to get the bike up on the stand and start putting on some bits, however my neighbour who is a Harley Rider came over and one beer led to another. You know how that goes. Anyway I did manage to get the bike up on the stand and will get into it tomorrow. Some fairings removed a few weeks ago. As you see it in this pic is how I rode down to get it re-registered back in May. They sure run cooler without fairings.

In celebration of my intent to get these parts on I got myself a new shirt at the Ducati dealer yesterday and to keep you all safe I have my mask on. The more my face is covered the better I look believe me. :)

Just a short update. I did not have much time over the weekend to do much but did remove some parts. I have to get to the cylinder heads to replace some bolts which were part of a group buy that our good forum friend Gecko organised a couple years ago. Along the way I took off this plastic piece under the headlight.

Here is a pic of the OEM part weight and the new CF part weight. OEM part weighs 123 grams and the CF part is 70 grams. I have gone for a Gloss CF theme. One of the reasons is that the Akra Evolution System has a gloss CF exhaust guard and the muffler tips are also gloss. I like the shiny look. Day off tomorrow so will get the fuel tank off, and some other bits.

Nice. I went with the gloss on my 1299s. Definitely enjoy it. I went with Shifttech, and everything looks to be very close. Through whom did you go for your carbon?

Just saw this. Most of my stuff I got from Shifttech.

Spent part of the weekend cleaning up the garage. Have to really clean up before I can do to much to the 1199. No room to do anything. While cleaning up I found a really nice CF piece I am looking forward to fitting. I had it painted very close to OEM scheme for an 1199S and have the OEM flag stickers under clear in the correct spots. As my aim is to save weight, I am quite keen to see the difference between this and the OEM part it replaces.
