Mark, if you hate the bike so much along with the build quality/dealership pricing/DNA and everything else why not just sell it and cut your losses.

And good luck with the HP4 they are supposed to be great but not entirely trouble free

with all i have done to the bike i would lose too much money better off keeping it. i also never said i dont like the bike because i do like the bike. its just a headache and quality control is terrible. ride it for a month then have to fix something and if you try doing something on it yourself its a joke. something as simple as changing coolant oil or brake fluid is a project. the fairing screws if you take them out 3 times they look like crap or they strip. i had to buy proti bolts to avoid this.

basically my whole bike is carbon where it can be i have titanium bolts throughout oil aquarium crg carbon levers rizoma reservoirs tamburine gas cap xpel ultimate paint protection rizoma mirrors full termi exhaust and whatever else i forgot. am i really going to sell it for 18 k come on now.

well if you are keeping it you now know what you are in for and maybe try and cut down the constant whining and moaning :)

Congrats man. It's an absolute dream to own both HP4 and R. Props to you buddy and ride safe!

just letting people know what happens with the bike.so they can look here and find out how to fix or go about getting it fixed. i believe i was the first to get the oil viewer straight from ducati na when my fairing melted. now you dont have to worry about it cause all the fairings have the viewer

Wow I didn't realize we had you to thank for the oil viewer in the fairings ??

6pm tomorrow I'm pulling the trigger and picking up a Competition 2014 HP4.

Gonna be converting my 1199R to a track only bike. So with that said lets keep the snide remarks to ourselves as I'm still going to be an 1199 owner.

Test rode a stocker S1000RR last night and was blown away at the comfort, speed, and incredible sound. In the end, the droopy headlight still kills me, and in no way will this HP4 be 'as beautiful' as my R, but I've got a feeling it will tickle my balls much more than my R ever could.

The HP4's technology just exceeds the R's so greatly that I could never justify having to pay $5,000 more for the Duc. (edited to prevent hurting anyones feelings).

More details to come tomorrow night.

Snigger, snigger! ;)

The comp IS the ultimate sportbike anyone who says it's not is lying to themselves.

Yes the 1199 is the best looking bike by far but it's no where near the best sportbike

I totally agree with this statement.
The BMW HP4 is certainly the ultimate "Sport bike".

But the DUCATI 1199 is not only the best looking out of the two, it's also the ultimate Motorcycle rider's bike.
Therein lies the fundamental and most profound differences:eek:

Ahem, did you pick up this beautiful bike yet? I need pics!!!

This bike (or its half twin S1000rr) has been on my short list to go the stable with both pani's and my other bikes.

1. I have horrible impulse control.
2. I have horrible impulse control.
3. Those blue rims/rearsets were just bonuses in my mind.

Don't you think the blue rims are a bit gay?
It's a pity they had to put the gay blue wheels on in order to make it look ok.
I think it's to distract the observer away from the upper front of the bike.

If they were purple (international colour for gay) then yes they would be LOL

Blue wheels are NOT gay dammit! Now I'm offended!!

No, not really. Just wanted to join in on all the fun. Hi guys!!

I don't know about the purple thing and the connection with gays:D
Then again you Kiwi's would be across it:eek:
Actually I thought they were into the rainbow colours?

As an aside.
I see you lot got your ..... handed to you in the Rugby during the commonwealth games.
I was quite surprised and just a little pleased about that:eek:
Better luck next time:)

Well be that as it may.
I normally wouldn't have considered blue wheels in of themselves as gay, as such.
Only when combined with white as the primary colour of the overall theme:eek:

:D
