I haven't seen this up here before, so I figured I'd post some pictures. I've always hated taping up my lights for a trackday, not to mention, that blue painters tape is ugly.

I stumbled upon TrakTape while looking for alternatives, and it turns out that this stuff is awesome (before anyone asks, I have no affiliation with them). It's a sheet of precut vinyl for the lights, mirrors, etc. I totally suck at putting on vinyl, but it still came out okay.

I wish they sold kits for the lights only considering I don't need the tape for my mirrors, and I think most people remove them for trackdays anyway. Also, I think they only make it for the Panigale and the 1x98.

Off topic: Anyone going to the MAD trackday at VIR next week?

Here's some pics:

20 bucks for one sheet of stickers?! Guessing this is not for vinyl that you can re-stick?

I just bought some for my next track day (9/13) will report feedback then....

never had issues with painter's tape, but ordered a few sheets to give it a shot!

How about plastidip? Just mask the edges, spray it with plastidip and when you're done pull it off.

Not really sure myself . Seems strange .

Are you talking to yourself? I've always taken you for a bit of a nutter, but you're starting to outdo yourself here :)

Also, from their FAQ:
Q: How many times can I use a sheet of TrakTape?

A: While the material we use is durable, we recommend one use per application. While there are no issues at all with leaving TrakTape on for multiple track days, we don't recommend removal and re-application.

Seems like a total rip-off to me...

I've used it and it's a great idea but I thought they could be a little more plyable and remove easier so you can reuse them.

Nice stuff.. Is it reusable?

That looks great.. ** I always use the blue painters tape first as a base layer. Then come back over it with black Duct tape on the rear and red Duct tape on the front.. ** The blue painters tape keeps the duct tape from sticking (since it is REALLY strong and would mar the plastic and be a real bear to get off etc) From a distance it looks like a race body since the whole front end is red and the rear is all blacked out. Takes more time but the result looks great.. Plus others cant see the brake light come on through the tape like they can with the painters tape. No sense giving them any clues to my braking points..LOL.. :D

I'll be at VIR Monday and Tuesday. Look for the Pearl White 1299 if you want to come hang out.

I love that stuff. Masking everything off then painting it all could be a pain in the arse though. Would look great though.

I was going to get my DP mirror blockoffs anodized black, so I plastidipped them just to see how it would look (as seen in the pics). They came out so good that I just left it and skipped the anodizing.
