Riding motorcycles are not inherently dangerous. But they are terribly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity or neglect.

Nonsense.

Ive rode through severe wind and never blew a line, and when I couldn't hold a decent line I slowed down.

Speeding was probably involved, it sure looks that way by the carnage left over.

You changed your tune.

Certainly don't mean to get into a pissing match here. I don't really care who's fault it was, I feel for both families equally. But you should note, while I don't know what your wind is like out there, gusts are deadly out here. Motorcycles are blown clear off the mountain road. It is not just wind, wind coming off the mountain can go from dead calm to a 40-50 mph gust. It sure as hell can make you blow a line. Just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, as such gusts kill motorcyclists out here all the time. But again, not arguing with you. It doesn't matter to me. This is just tragic. I would hope I could learn something from it, so I do tend to overanalyze possible scenarios. But in any conversation so far with anybody else I know here that rides, when I mention "this was Sunday afternoon, do you remember that" every one of their responses has been "Oh ...., the wind probably did it."

Ugh, the whole thing makes me sick.
