Tune Boy Maps

Full kit includes TuneBoyTrim and FlashMitsubishi Softwares, TuneBoy WB-01 Wifi interface unit which is basically a re-badged InnovateMotorsports OT-2 (download the manual from IM), Innovates MotoSports Logworks and LC-1 programmer software, 2 Innovate Motorsports LC-1 wideband controllers/sensors(manual ffrom IM) fitted with AMP connectors for the Panigale, & 12-18mm adapters for those.

You do need the LC-1s (or other wideband sensors) for any 'roll your own' tunes, if you are only interested in using tunes developed by others or 'cruise only' then there is no need.

You have the option of buying just 1 probe and tuning one cylinder then moving the probe to the other and tuning that, but for the extra time you'd spend doing that I think it's probably cheaper to just buy both. And hey this is a $20,000 bike we are talking about huh...

Hi Wayne, did you get around to tuning a bike with the Termi slip ons? If so any chance you could post the graph up?

Also I see the website currently doesn't have any available Tune Downloads for the 1199? I'm assuming you would send this with the software? Finally any news on the iPhone app or when it would be ready? Thanks.

I have been working on the throttle blip code.
I need to get this ready for the Panigale so I can fit the strain gauge quick shifter at the same time.
I am testing the code on the MTS1200 at the moment.
Sorry this is taking a little longer that I expected.

The maps for the Panigale are included on the CD.

After 10 days of ...... weather round here I got my first chance for a short ride since installing the 'cruise and tune' map.
It was just a short commute into town but it showed that the fueling in this base map was the same as before the re-flash which is both expected and comforting.
But cruise is really really cool ! It's just really neat to bang the button and have someone(thing) else watching your speed for you. Really cool when you get that numb hand/wrist caused by not enough speed and you need to take a break to shake out the right hand. Really cool when you need both hands for a second to pull up the zip in your jacket or fasten your collar. Just made slow speed riding a whole lot nicer!
Snow rain and sleet forecast to sea level for the next few days so will have to wait again before I can test the new trims and the AFR logging.

Wayne have you had a chance yet to examine the map update that is released with the 41t rear sprocket upgrade ? Have you been able to determine what Ducati have altered for this upgrade ?
Presumably when you get your hands on it you will rebase your baseline tunes on it ?

There is no "41T" map..... so nothing changes...:)

That's good news as far as I am concerned (and I'm sure for Wayne) but the text in the Ducati service bulletin seems to indicate that there is an update. Goes on to mention that it is backward compatible with the 39t sprocket also - a change to the quick shifter parameters I think.

I had my new map done back in Nov 12-005... got the 41T last weekend and bike was plugged into the DDS.... No updates were required/done... the letter Ducati mailed just lead to confusion.... there is no change in the mapping/DTC for the 41T...

Really good to hear that, thanks for confirming. Just had the 41T thing done by ProTwin not the dealer.

by this do you mean that you didnt notice any difference in the way the bike rode from a tune perspective?

That's both correct and desirable as I haven't yet made any changes to the tuning / fuel maps. Once some good weather returns I can make fuelling adjustments based on logged AFR readings on the road or in the dyno shop.

why not optimizing the tunes already available for your exhaust, instead of starting from scratch? that is what they are for...

Yes that's where I intend to start. I also believe Wayne is working with a customer and dyno to develop a trim for termi slips.

Does anybody know if replacing the dash ecu will affect the tuneboy flash? I'm on my second dash, which will need to be replaced again. If I have the dealer replace the dash, will I need to buy another tuneedit key to reinstall the software on my bike?

Nope... Tuneboy remaps the Ecu... this is not located in the dash...

I am on the quest for smooth bottom end fueling. Is this where I parked my car?

This is what sold me on ordering the tuneboy kit. i'm told that the avialable tune files on the CD to help this and also the heat (as a bonus). The cruise for me was a nice extra feature.
