V2 power wheelie?

Put it in race mode and turn all the aids off and trust me it pulls in first gear just fine, the beauty of the quick shifter is you can even shift gears in the wheelie that much easier!! But careful when you do it and have your foot over that rear brake! Also you might hit false neutral and find your self back on both wheels a lot sooner than planned ha. Happens often to me… Once you learn your power band you’ll be doing it everywhere. Gear up take caution and just do it…

Is it just me or are wheelies only stupid if you can’t do them?

Facts, it’s a learning curve though for sure… I learned to ride bikes on the dirt, a lot of people start on street riding big bikes makes it so much harder in my opinion. To ride a motorcycle like that you have to be a little crazy .... that’s part of the fun

Hmmm? All my bikes will power wheelie, even the Aprilia RS660 w/wheelie control off. A few of them w/no electronics are quite aggravating sometimes when you really don’t want it to wheelie and are as far forward as possible on the bike. They accelerate, uhhmmm, quite quickly…

I updated the V2 wheelie issue on another thread that got started somewhere on this forum but missed updating this one. So here is the short version....

The 2021 Panigale V2 (at least my 2021 USA V2) got new ECU firmware that prevents you from turning off rider aides 100% during the break-in period (first ~620 miles). Well, you can turn them off, but the bike doesn't honor your settings and still limits you. You can turn off every safety aid, rev the bike to 10K and drop the clutch and the bike will bog down rather than loop (try at your own risk). After the break-in period (service light comes on) then the limitations are lifted and you can wheelie the crap out of the V2. You do not have to have the bike serviced to get the restrictions lifted. It instantly eliminates the restrictions. I found out the hard way when I took off fast from a stop light and expected the normal 6 inch wheelie and just about looped it. Now the V2 wheelies in 1st and 2nd, no problem. The 2020 V2 did not have this limitation in the firmware, which is why some people could wheelie a new V2 while others (2021+) could not.

Enjoy

I can power wheelie 1st & 2nd… higher rpms with WC at 1 (45 degree) and carry them out. Not sure what everyone is talking about?!?! Now clutch ups are a different story, not yet. I just did a Brentune stg1, we will see how that plays out, haven’t ridden much after yet… short ride tells me it made a few significant differences.

And you older (assuming) sour Ducati riders, let the kid (assuming) live a bit… I’m 43 and still love to wheelie. Just practice and be safe. 😉

Update >>> 2nd gear, 3rd gear clutch ups… NO FREAKING problem. 😂

Turning it completely off is risky for beginners. DWC levels 1-4 likely adjust sensitivity, with 1 allowing the most lift before engaging.
