Thanks Ryan!!

I’ve enjoyed watching your collection grow. I like your strategy of sticking only with the best from Ducati

Hopefully we’ll be able to connect this week but if not we’ll make it happen soon.

OP must have made his money for toys on tech stocks

FE all the way, it's the perfect bike in every respect and will be collectible

I wish man. Unfortunately for me it came the slow and steady path. No where near the resources of some of the tech guys. But I’m finding everything is relative. If you can be content with your current situation and grateful at the same time, that for me is the key. Hoping to get there one day.

It would be a absolutely epic to see both your collections together.

Ha. I think that Kevin's collection would put mine to shame.

Here's a fun fact: before I buy anything I ask Kevin how he likes his because he pretty much has everything I have (plus all the other great bikes he has) but he bought it long before.

The awesome thing is that these are enthusiast owned machines so he really puts them to proper use and knows exactly how they ride. He's an awesome Ducatisto.

DAMN !!!!
Congrats !

where are the Akras on the Speciale ?

Guys, I was trying my best to wait for the R to come out but took the v4s for a test ride and couldn't resist. #56 will hold me over until the R arrives. Akra exhaust goes on in a couple weeks. Only 20 miles so far but the bike is amazing.

So here's the question - is it better than the FE with the full Akra race exhaust??

The FE with this system is ferocious. There is no other way to put it. Not just the sound, but also how quickly it spools up. It hits MUCH harder than the v4 and candidly harder than anything I've ever experienced. And then there is the sound...

The v4s by comparison sounds docile but is buttery smooth. Power delivery is linear and it pulls like a freight train up in the revs. The bike loves to rev and is very happy in the 8-12K range.

It's not a fair comparison since I'm taking it easy on the v4s and it's really restricted at the moment. However, my sense is that I'll be much quicker on the v4. It's so easy to ride fast. That being said, the FE feels more special. And to me, by a wide margin.

Both are beautiful bikes. Which one is prettier is in the eye of the beholder.

Sorry for all the pics, but wanted to fully capture the similarities and differences for those still trying to decide between the twin and new v4.

Cheers!
Kevin

Thanks Ryan. Coming from you that mean a lot!!

Also, for the record I don't think there is a collection of bikes out there that puts yours to shame. Your patience has really paid off!

where are the Akras on the Speciale ?

Thanks man. The Akras are in box at my dealer. Scheduled to go under the knife in 2 weeks. Hoping to get 600 miles on the clock by then so they can do the first service and exhaust install all at once. I will report back on the difference in sound and performance once she's back.

Hoping it's as big a difference as it was on the FE. If so, the bike will be untouchable. Well done Ducati!

just a quick word from Amsterdam, Holland. #50 here with Akra's from the get-go. I have no comparison with standard exhaust but in relation to my trusty 1098 with Termi's the V4 sure sounds meaner and even louder!

I'm totally hooked on the DQS though, it's fantastic to downshift entering slow corners and shortshifting out of them (due to 7000 rpm breaking in limits...)

Enjoy the ride!

On the fe are those the SL rims or the new bst rims that are similar. If they are the SL rims how did you get them.

Congrats! They look amazing together! I don't know which one to choose yet

It's a tough choice. The FE is still my favorite of the two with the exhaust and wheels but I've definitely been riding the v4 more often. It's just so dang competent at everything. Easier to ride longer distances and truely does make you feel like a hero. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice!
