Riki, Thanks for posting that video and making my Saturday morning coffee taste SO much better!! I can't wait to Race mine next season..

Awesome pic Riki! I have some niggles with the styling on the v4, but they solved all of them on the v4r!

Did really putting winglets on that thing? They should go well with the horn and kickstand.

People complaining about the winglets make me laugh. The bike was designed to win races, not ensure you look good riding it and soothe your ego.

Exactly my point. The works V4 is designed to win races and if an AD package helps to do that then by all means get it on there. The bike they sell at the dealership isn't that bike, its a bike that has to be sold to satisfy the rules and the guys who are buying them (with a few exceptions) are not those riders. Post up all the class winners from WERA and CCS a year from now and lets see how many guys are on the podium with a 40K dealer bike. For a street bike, the AD bits are a gimmick. The R is a "race inspired bike" based on a mandate. Awesome bike right out of the gate for sure but lets keep it real. Unlike Aprilia where you can actually go and buy a race bike, Ducati sell's "race inspired" bikes. If you want a Corse spec v4 R, you going to need some tools, some skills and an Amex card

Now onto something less goofy. The V4 block in the photos I have and the parts manual do not show that they are using cylinder liners on this engine. Question, does anyone know weather they have cast steel liners into the block or are they using just using the bare block with a silicone matrix. Also are they using 2 ring pistons in the R motors?

Oh and I did not do a thorough search but after 18 pages of race results from WERA's 2018 season I couldn't find a Ducati on the grid in expert or novice superbike R or otherwise. We will see what the 19 season looks like.

With that being said I highly doubt Ducati gives a flying F*@k about anyones opinion on the winglets. The bike is still going to sell anyway.

LOL well you are absolutely correct, that brand has shown time and time again that they don't give 2 ..... about their customers or the issues with their bikes. Lots of colorful fruits, veggies and nicely placed garnish, just not a lot of meat and potatoes. They are all about colored coordinated back packs and branded accessories and getting the most money they can for what they sell. Ask them what they put into amateur racing or how accessible their RS parts are etc.

This will be my first year Racing A DUCATI in CCS/ ASRA, I will definitely keep everyone updated on my Results!!! Starting in March at Daytona then onto Cmp- Thunderbolt- Summit point- Vir. I will be Racing 10 Rounds in Atlantic and Mid Atlantic Regions.. Come on WINGS!!

Matt thats awesome. Not familiar with that series or class (been a long time).
Scott, looking forward to your journey. I know Wilkson is fast and there are a few others here who compete in series racing as well. You guys are the ones who should be giving feedback on what does what on these things and how to improve or personalize the platform.

Which model will you be racing?

My new R is due in April timeframe .. Last year I Raced a very well built Aprilia RF, Before that I raced Zx10R- RR for 2 years, This will be new bike #29..I'm really looking forward to giving DUCATI a try and I will be posting my Racing results and lap times when the season begins.

....aren't they going to offer wing adjustability on the fly...via the thumb paddle ? :)

Hold the buss, now you are on to something however I was thinking more along the lines of electronically tying the wings into the steering so that you get asymmetrical wing activation to assist corner entry. Maybe the 2020 model will have a braking activated spoiler that comes out of the windscreen as well. Many possibilities my friend.
