the temperature warning starts blinking at 166° C/331° F, ducati says.
and also that pure glycol , which has a boiling point in that range, has to be used.
in my opinion the use of water instead of glycol is mandantory.
is that a Problem on the V4R?
how do you handle this?

I put distilled water with Water Wetter in my V4R. The bike has been fine at tracks were it is 100+ degrees. This includes Chuckwalla Valley Raceway and Willow Springs.

Based on Kyle W's recent sit-down with Dustin...is anyone changing out the radiator to Febur, etc? I had to do this in my 1199R and probably will with the V4R....

Besides increased capacity and cooling for racing, was there anything else KW pointed out in the interview?

He didn’t specify...but I know I’ve always worried about heat, even with the Febur on my 1199R...temps climb quick...especially when sitting on the grid! And he reiterated how “fragile” or temperamental these engines are...seems like a smart move-

KW switched from a H20 to a febur? Why?
I need to go through video of my last track day to see temps, been considering going to a racing radiator but not sure which out of h20, febur, or taleo.

Taping off the hole left from removing the horn dropped my on track temps from 244° F to 226° F with water+water wetter in a back to back test.

I don't know what radiator they switched to...he just mentioned it was necessary for his racing, using the V4R.
