I thought an updated V4 R would be announced in one of these weekly web episodes but since this V4 SP is 1,100cc, this cannot be the WSBK homologation update. Then again, I read somewhere an updated V4 R is not coming now, but in 2Q21. I didn't think much of this at the time, but perhaps it's accurate.

Thought they update the R every two years . That would be 2021, not 2022 according to the previous sentence (if that holds).
500 to homologate one time - after that, no further requirements unless a new Motorcyle is developed
