Want to add aftermarket alarm system for 1199S

Can someone recommend a good aftermarket alarm for my 2012 1199S? I’d like one that would emit a loud siren if bike is tampered with.

Space is obviously limited on these bikes; no idea where it would mount! Does Ducati make a model-specific alarm kit for the early Panigale?

I’ll consider 3rd party brands but I’m imagining possible install difficulties if alarm kit is not specifically designed for my bike.

I have a Gorilla alarm on my 2015 R1, it installed rather easily but there’s more underseat space on that bike.

Thanks in advance

Greg

Great, thanks for the response, so this is the proper kit for the early Panigales? I’ve seen some for the V4/V2, but not early Panis.

I’ll search that part number, thanks again.

EDIT--disregard my doubt--I see you also have a 1199!

I’m finding the official Ducati alarm rather pricey- is there a recommended 3rd party alarm that could work reliably on my bike? Or best to stick to the officially sanctioned $$$ Ducati kit?
I see other alternatives—

I went ahead at bit the bullet--and bought the Ducati alarm kit--it's gotta be a better fit for our bikes as it's designed to integrate into the specific model. I found it in Italy for about $100 less than US vendors--

Hey Greg;
Please let us know how well it works when you get it installed. I agree with you - it is rather pricey. Most of the time I don't need it because my bike is parked safely in my garage but there are those occasions when I have to leave the bike parked, unattended in public for a short time that make me cringe just a little.
Thanks,

Same here, my bike is usually locked up in my garage, but on the rare occasions that I need to park it outside, I do want to have it alarmed, like my R1. Peace of mind is priceless.

2 strong people, 1 van and boom....gone in a few seconds.
I get the distraction aspect of an alarm but it a thief wants it that bad, no bike lock or alarm will prevent it from happening. If i need to be away from the bike for a long enough period, i just won't ride. Best peace of mind. I guess it makes more sense for those who don't have a garage or park in an apartment complex garage. Obviously that wouldn't stop it from happening but i guess it's better than nothing at all.

I think as long as you dont live in a dem run city it should be fine

They are now around $450 in the US--I bargained the Italian Ebay vendor down to $350 total shipped--- Still too much for a simple electronic kit, but whatever. And I do live in a Dem-run city, Austin, but we are on the far west side with MUCH less crime--thank God!

Yes, you are right Ducati works or 1199. This combo is amazing and truly it fits. The best thing is they are pretty safe. It looks truly good that you are working on your bike so far. Kindly share some more details about where you buy these all pieces of stuff and also the final look.
