What Did You Do For Your Panigale Today?

Where did you score the cans and how much for the whole setup?

Bought them from a Ducati race team. I’m about $5.5k (aud) into it at this point - that’s including the carbon heat shield and carbon belly pan. The Akra equivalent would have been around $9k with the heat shield I reckon.

Anyone replace with LED headlight bulbs? There are many to choose on Amazon and curious with experience
I can’t stand the yellowish light

When I had my 1199 it was a common mod to buy 1199S headlights which were all LED and install them. They aren't direct plug in but its not hard to do and there are guides you can follow. They were on this site when it was the 1199 forums. I'm sure its still around somewhere.

Well,

I’m almost done doing my own maintenance with a couple of upgrades. It’s been a bit of a long process but in the end I’m glad I did it.

This is what I have done.

Oil and filter Change
Air filter change
Anti-freeze change
Bled front, rear, and clutch master and lines
Corsa Zero Gravity smoked windscreen
CNC clutch slave cylinder 28mm
520 Chain and Sprocket with superlite quick release sprocket

I had so much that needed to be done I figured I’ve save a bunch of money doing to myself. I’m sure that was true but I did have to buy some tools, with the most expensive being an impact wrench to get the rear nut off. I have wanted one for a long time and figured now was the time.

She’s almost back together, just need to put the fairings back on. I’ll be doing all my own maintenance from now on. Paying the dealer $250 for an oil change is not happening any more. If you are wondering I did not do it all in a day.

Nice. What chain you go with?

I went with a DID 520 zvm-x in nickel. This was a tough choice. I really like the look but almost went with a black chain. Black was $200 while I bought this one off eBay for I think $105. It was 110 links. I really tried to go 106 links on length, but I stayed with the 39 rear. I tested the length before I riveted the master, and after I adjusted the chain I had almost no more adjustment. So once the chain stretches I would not be able to re adjust. So, I cut it down two more links to 104.

Easier than getting another master after initial stretch I guess. Prolly get roasted for saying this but DID chain always stretched twice as quick as my EK chains did. Top shelf 630 chains from both companies - that was my experience. Different application hopefully it will serve you well ☮️

I wouldn’t doubt it. It wasn’t that long before I realized I should have gone with an EK. It has a higher tensile strength, and the master links come with a spacer to help you not over press the link. I did not know the about the master link until I realized I might have jacked mine up. But when I was looking, I knew I wanted a chrome/nickel look, and the DID appeared to be brighter. The EK was chrome was part of the color series, and the inside plates were not the same color.

Either way, if I had the EK chain I would had still cut it down to 106, tested the length and then cut 2 more links. When I say I was at the end of axle travel, I mean I was just off the stop.

Also, with the axle all the way back like that it would have lengthened the wheel base and since we dealing with an eccentric hub, it would have lowered the rear, both of which would slow steering. Realizing that I went to 104.

Ya; tight and technical with lots of elevation changes AND they run in both directions (just not at the same time). [emoji12]
