Since topics seem to be running a bit dry here, I figured I'd throw out a question for the troops? Let's see what everyone uses?

What product(s) do you use to keep your bike clean and shiny?

For instance. I do not like Plexus, but love Honda Polish and a micro fiber cloth.

You're supposed to clean it too?? What did I pay so much money for??!

lol in all seriousness, with 500 miles on it, I have not yet cleaned anything, but I need to wipe the bugs off the front.

What? Your supposed to clean it?

An airgun to blow off dust
A damp chamois and bucket of cool water to wipe it down
Maguire's Wax and micro fiber cloth for waxing

Standard process for me is:

Hose it down
Apply "Muc Off" to areas with excessive dirt
Wash with Autoglym shampoo using mit and 2 bucket method
Use brake cleaner for chain lube mark removal
Autoglym insect/tar remover
Hose down and dry with microfibre
Start bike and wait for excesive water to fire off exhaust on to the hugger and clean
Polish with Zymol

Excess but keeps the bike looking clean especially as it normally draws the crowds at bike meets,

LOL...this easily take 1hr to 2hr to complete, very similar method I used to clean all my bikes. I recommend investing on an airgun to dry the bike.

Hmmm... Lots of options out there. I've been using Plexis and micro fiber rags. Used a little WD-40 to clean the Termi's off. Washed her with soap and water once after getting caught in a rain storm.

Sounds like the Pro Honda is some good stuff? Will the polish get the little tiny scuffs out of the tank?

I have just bought some 'Vulcanet' bike wipes as they were on offer i thought id try them ;), Don't know if they would be any good if the bike was absolutely filthy but for everyday cleaning like flies and chain fling they work a treat. Just wipe the bike over then let it dry and polish off with supplied micrfibre cloth.

I'm scared to wash it. The paint is soft as ......

I use a 1:1 mix of isopropyl alcohol to get grease / lube off.

Or Poorboys all purpose cleaner.

Gave it a polish the other day to try and get the scratches and swirl marks out that it came with, and made it worse.

Soft.As.......

Not happy.

I agree the paint is .... TBH, mine is covered in scratches already, just gonna leave it till it looks knackered and get it resprayed a different colour/design !

You can spend a ton of money on Honda or Plexis or just use Pledge, same ingredients for just pennies.

So this is just a spray on an wipe off? You still have to prep the bike a little, before right? I'm thinking getting a wet cloth to wipe it down before using the cleaner.

That's all I do, spray it on and wipe it off. And the bike looks great, not sure you need to do any prep work. This stuff works very well and it's cheap. I just placed another order for three more cans so I probably have enough for the rest of this decade. Buy it here, you guys can make a run on it, lol; link -> Pro Honda Spray Cleaner & Polish | ATV | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

I don't know what it is about this bike but I get grease all over the place and can't figure out if it's just chain fling or what??? Therefore,i have to use quite a lot of WD40 to get that off and then just water at the front end to get those Mississippi bugs off. However, I always used to subscribe to the dry clean method using Meguires products. This works well if you're a pussy like me and don't ride in the rain if you can help itl!!! :D

If you have to get rid of serious road grime or clean her up after riding in the rain, I use a bucket of water with carwash and a microfiber cloth or wash mitt.
Otherwise or afterwards I use Lucas Slickmist or Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer which will shine her right up:)
