What would be a good price for a 2012 and 2013 base 1199?

I bought a '12 base last week for $16,300 plus FL county taxes only. So there was no freight, setup, or dealer fees. I had an offer for an '12 base w/ABS for $17,300 plus taxes only.

Through June of 2013 Ducati has a special offer to pay your first 6-payments if you finance through Freedom Road Financial (up to 84 months at 5.99% interest or down to 48 months at 3.99%) on non-ABS 2012 Pani's - even the S models. They offer to pay your first 4-month payments with same loan options on 2012 Pani's w/ABS. This is offered directly from Ducati through every dealer.

I financed just to get the 6-payments and will likely pay off the simple-interest loan in a year or 2. That is until something else shiny comes into view...

Hi again. Do you guys think $20K for a 2012 S is a good price? Dealer would only charge tax, freight, and registration.

I've bought an MV Agusta from him 10 years ago and he's never charged a setup fee as he fells that's just their cost of doing business. I've found him to be a pretty honest guy and they're a small "mom and pop" shop in Tucson, AZ.
So, I don't really feel like twisting his arm to beat him for a lower price. On the other hand, I don't really want to pay over what the market's really asking for.

Thanks.

I have not seen what others may be asking, but that sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

I am selling my 2012 With 1,550 miles. It has the heat sheild and ECU upgrade along with an extended 3 year warranty that totals 4 1/2 years left. I have put shorty levers on it and a comfort seat. Will come with a new Pit Bull stand and Im asking $15,500.

Looking to get into a Panigale as well. My local dealer wants $18.5k OTD for a left over '12 base without ABS. Think I can do better. Agibbs, 20k for an S sounds like a good deal.

I bought my 2012 S for 21k with ducati paying my first 6 months of payments. That's a good price.

Thanks everyone. Quick question. Did the 2012 S come with ABS as standard? I checked Ducati's site and looks like the 2013 all have ABS standard on base and S.

ABS is the primary reason I have shied away from jumping on the current Ducati promotion. It is already standard for all 2013 models thus rendering any new '12 without ABS dated right out of the dealership, not to mention it is an excellent feature to have. It has been difficult to find any new '12 ABS models in stock.

Abs is extra weight. It isn't needed in the slightest unless you plan on rain riding. I'd prefer an abs free 1199 over one with abs personally.

Give me a break. It's priceless on the street. Unless of course I'm posting a response to gatti marquez pedrosa lorenzo man.

Priceless? Lmao. I rode 28k miles in college with no car on an r1. Rain or shine. Abs isn't needed. Its a crutch and is extra weight in 99.9% of the circumstances on the road and 100% of the time on the track.

you can turn the abs off.

Who owns a bike and doesn't plan on rain riding?
Me. Why would anyone WANT to go rain riding? That's what cars are for. If I was in a race its one thing or got caught in the rain but desiring to ride in the rain? That's uncommon to say the least.

I believe he was implying that no one realistically assumes they will be able to avoid riding in the rain altogether. The brakes on these bikes are really phenomenal and ABS helps ensure riders will be able to use them as effectively as possible whatever the conditions. Not to say bikes without ABS are not rideable, but having that capability is clearly an advantage for street riding.

Thanks everyone for your input. I pulled the trigger on a 2012 1199S w/ no ABS from Renaissance Motorcycles.

Renaissance Motorcycles : Italian Motorcycle Specialists : Ducati : MV Agusta : Aprilia : Moto Guzzi : Piaggio : Vespa

Price came up to $22,665 which includes Arizona taxes ($1,620) and registration ($451). So, factor out tax and license, that's $20,000 for the 1199S + $495 for destination. Renaissance has never charged the set up fee on any bike as "that's part of doing business." The owner will be making the 90 mile (one way) trip to Phoenix on Sunday afternoon to deliver it. I've bought bikes from Renaissance before and they've always been fair and trust worthy.

On a side note, I did try to get some numbers on 2012 bases and the price I got is $17400 (OTD but w/o AZ tax and registration) and $16,900 (also w/o AZ tax and registration). And, I'd still have to pay $800 for shipping. So, that would come up to $19,771 for the cheapest base w/o ABS. That's a $3K difference from my S. And, considering I'm buying from a dealer I know and like, I think that's okay.

Congrats. I love mine.
