What would be a good price for a 2012 and 2013 base 1199?

Congrats! Wise choice based on your analysis. Welcome again and make sure all your updates/recalls are done, especially the latest TSB 881 that addresses the 2012 wiring harness that may cause intermittent failure of your left handlebar controls for turn signals and dash controls. That one drove me batty.

Lots for you to read through on upgrades and mods, but as a start, I spent $40 on an AFAM 14T front sprocket (OEM is 15T) vs. the common $300+ mod of a 41T rear and new chain (OEM is 39T on everything except the R), and the bike feels like it's turbocharged now. Mind you, it wasn't slow when I picked it up off the showroom.

Let the madness begin!

Thanks. Do the 1199 has the speedo sensor by the front drive sprocket (like I think the 999 did)?

No, from what I understand, the ECU uses front and rear wheel speed sensors as part of the full Ride-by-Wire (RbW) electronics package. If you change sprockets, front or rear, the speedo will not be off like other bikes. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Renaissance Motorcycles delivered my 1199S today but wouldn't you know it, I'm down with the stomach flu. Well, at least now I can say I ain't full of s#%t. :)

16k+ tax is what I got my 2012 for. Ducati pays the first 6 payments which come out to be $1500.

Congrats to those with new rides......i still have a 2012 base I am reluctantly selling if anyone is interested. It's in the classifieds which I have to change but I will sell it for $14k. Nice ride for anyone who has time to put miles on it.

Congrats to the new Pani owners. I actually just picked up a new '12 S with ABS this weekend as well at a great price. LOVE the bike so far. There are some very good deals to be had out there.

Word of advice for anyone looking to buy in the Houston area: avoid Team Mancuso Powersports Southwest if at all possible, especially if you are not local. I had the absolute worst shopping experience I've had at any vehicle dealership here. From what I could tell they are a fairly high volume dealership but use used car dealership tactics (bait and switch). Basically, don't count on them keeping their word on any quoted OTD price they may give you; the goal is clearly just to get you in the door. I also hear their service department is terrible but thankfully I won't have to find out from personal experience.

Happy shopping and safe riding

I would ride it but I'm still to weak from the stomach flu. 3 days with no food.

Nice S man, i bought a 12' base 2 1/2 months ago. the sticker was 17,999 but he told me to bring him a check for 18 out the door tax title etc etc. I wish i got a comfort seat with the purchase but oh well, its there now. Congrats again
