Picking up my 1199r tomorrow after months of prowling this site for information I finally made a decision and it is coming in tomorrow.

Going to be getting a 1199s (I think??) unless I get persuaded at the 2 day track course that i'm going to sign up for. They supply BMW 1000rr ;)

I got word today that I was move from waiting for a slot to having my name on an R in about 8 weeks.

I bought the Tricolore and just picked up my R on Tuesday, so happy I could burst if only we had some dry weather to use just one of them

Bought my base in Jan and trading it back in at the same dealer once the R gets here.

I just ordered the Standard and have asked the dealer to check out how much for a set of Marchesini Magnesium gold wheels. Has anyone seen a standard with gold Wheels, i reckon it will add that striking touch to an already striking bike.

I bought the base because it is the lightest of the bunch, and I do not want abs, when I can't use the brakes properly on a motorcycle anymore it will be time to hang up my spurs.
The suspension has enough adjustment in it front and rear to make it work well enough for me, for my riding range I backed off compression damping front and rear, and back the rear spring off all the way, as well as add rebound. It is slightly more wheelie happy but that's half the fun. I left the rear shock linkage standard, and left the ride height adjustment at the dealer/factory setting, the bike turns in better like this, it doesn't feel like a uni cycle anymore.
The more I ride it the better it gets, and the more I grin under the helmet. Steve

U must have a 2012.

lol - I have a 2013 Hayabusa as well, just wanted a new sports bike thought I might have a look at the 1199, took one for a ride (S) and was so impressed I bought one :) I have a R6 full race bike as well which I suspect will take a back seat for a while until I get used to the new bike although the R6 is an amazing little bike (full race/port/Ohlins etc) goes like stink but cant wait to unleash the 1199R on the track should be a blast. Amazed that it basically has the same power as the Busa (its kitted) but the weight of a 600 incredible!
First time Ducati owner always been a little wary and suspect of them (over-priced underpowered) but this new breed is another animal - blew me away!

Cheers
BK

My R is in the garage as of last week. This Italian lady speaks to you in so many different ways. Perma-grin will not be leaving anytime soon.

Two more options need to be added to this poll... 1199R and 1199SL ;)

Pick up my R in just under a week.........

Then I can fit my damn Akrapovic system which has been sat in my garage 4 months sulking at me!!!!!

I torture my base S model. but never on the track, and haven't ridden the S, so I cant exactly compare for you :(
