omg you guys will argue about anything. ahahaha

Wait, what? Ok so Blackrock pretty much controls the market as they own controlling shares of everything in it, so they would know, however, maybe they just want to get you to buy to pump prices before they dump it.
Don't even respond to this, I'm joking. I have no idea where you guys are talking about buying. Does that matter?

I agree, any time is a good time to buy a new bike because life is short so get on it!

Blackrock says buy

We were arguing about real estate, which has minted stacks of new millionaires since 2019. If Blackrock and Vanguard are sucking up housing then you know where the action is.

Houses and farm land. But not everywhere.
Attention on the farmland. There is a degradation of farmable land globally. Mineral and nutrients are getting depleted from over farming, and especially chemical additives from Monsanto programs sterilizing soils. We're loosing around 2-3% of viable farmland annually in the world. You don't want to buy that land.
North America is #1. Soils there can handle a lot more than most places but nothing can handle where industrial farming has gone indefinately.

I always ask who stand to benefit, in this case its the bank lending piles of money for rising prices (like a ponzi scheme) and the hedgies for turning everyone into forever renters. In other words Wall St, and since the dems are the party of wall street nothing will be done for the people getting squeezed; its a feature of the system, not a problem. Fun fact, Russia and the Ukraine produce 25% of the worlds wheat, what do you think sanctions are going to do to food prices, Russia also is major oil supplier- who stand to benefit from rising energy prices, surely not the oil and coal sector? Washington may be full of evil .......s but they are not stupid.

Uh, ya. Finally an exit stage right to the pathetic handling of the pandemic, a real distraction instead of actually solving problems in-country that require fairness to the employed and impoverished, the dollar finally bounced up on the Euro, everyone loves selling bullets and bombs, gas prices in Europe doubled, and whatever ...... is in office everywhere is hand wringing about drawing new lines and playing erratic stock markets. The top always make money in any crisis. America can't go a whole year without a war. Arming one is the next best thing.

Funds have been buying into property as 1) they don't have a lot of other ways to diversify away from risk-on assets atm, 2) the FED has been running close to 0% market rate and hasn't had an immediate reason to lift for some time, and 3) the FED have been buying about $80b in MBS each month.

I'd agree that a big reason why property prices have increased (in the states) over the past couple of years, is due to that big institutional money flowing in. But a rise in rates and contraction in the FEDs balance sheet is going to really wind that down. Combine that with any flow-on rebalancing, deleveraging and margin-calling to come from a sharp drop in equities in response to rising rates, means a likely flow-on drop in property demand from those same sources. So no, I'd be cautious drawing a trendline for future property prices based on recent years. Which have been absolutely insane from a central bank intervention perspective.

Might actually be a good time to buy a bike end of this year or next, if the FED actually do what they are advertising (and if you have cash). But I wouldn't let that stop someone on getting what brings them joy either.

Depends on what is important to you. As a streetbike and occasional track bike, the SP2 will probably suit you better. I rode one at Misano a few weeks ago, and It does feel better than the V4S for sure. If your focus is track/performance riding, you may find the new V4R worth waiting for.

They’re merely announcing a 2023 in a little over a month. With the lack of availability currently in the market I doubt anyone is going to be taking delivery of a 2023 any time soon.

You’re worried about a product that doesn’t exist yet, that you wouldn’t be able to take delivery of for quite some time.

... lol, I admit to this kind of thinking but then at some point I pull the trigger...

The only bikes i regret buying were the ones that for whatever reason were garage queens.

Thank you that kinda makes me feel better i will just stick to the SP2 i just hope that the new R wont have a new feature that is going to be the next standard. just for information i will use the bike primarly as a track bike because i do not have a drivers licence for it i need to wait till next year Oktober to get my drivers licence because of the Swiss law.

Looks like those worries were unfounded. 🤣
