I'm sure we all wanna know or get an idea of how many ppl have wrecked slightly/major or totaled their Pani.

Just state how many miles were on the clock, whether it was a slight boo boo, major wreck or it got totaled.

Also, if it was totaled, are you on a replacement just yet?

p.s. you dont have to disclose how or what happened if you dont want

I totaled mine on Sunday Oct 5th with 5600+ miles on the clock.
Wasted no time and lucked out when my dealer had just uncrated a new one that week, so I jumped on it :).

What did the insurance company do with your bike? What item put it over the edge on being totalled? Inquiring minds want to know :)

well lets see, $17000 worth of damage put it over the edge lol. There was never a doubt that it was totaled...that's why I went ahead and bought another bike, against the edjuter's recomendation.

every fairing for touched, subframe/ whole tail peice, tank, RH stator case has a hole in it. I suspest they'd replace the rear wheel also and tho not really damaged, I think the swingarm might have made the estimate. The header on the right side also damaged.

I aksed him today about buy-back and they offered it at $7000...personally I'd buy it as a track bike/fixer-up for around $5K.

Tomorrow I exchange the title for a check for the balance (after payoff). The bike will also get picked up tomorrow.

Sucks that they strickly go by NADA which suggest a value of only $15870, kinda harsh considering you spent at least $18K + just 4 months ago lol...gotta laught about it.

My added accessories and gear added some value tho

Some policies have a replacment clause, and some will cover after market parts, all depends. Are they rasing your rates? They always get their money back one way or another.

Yeah, they get their money back in the end and I dont know how it will affect my premium yet until I renew.

And yes, im covered up to $3000 in accessories...my add-ons and gear came to $2600 so the total claim was around $18470.

Heads up for you guys with a ton of add-ons...make sure those parts are cover. Buy extra coverage if needed, most companies only cover $3000 for free.

Learnt that the hard way with my 999 with full Termi and tons of mods. covered the price of the Termis, but then I had to replace my helmet, jacket and gloves outta pocket. Not to mention I have $15K extra in that bike, that's why I dont do that no more ;-)

Yes, you don't think about thta - unlike a car, you have all your appaerall damaged in an accident too! Did you have any slider addons, and did they do their job?

So what exactly happened? Looks like a nasty low side followed by some tumbles. Any GoPro vid?

How did the left side do. So many people say to me "that shocks going to get ripped off in a crash".

No sliders persay, have DP cf clutch cover and it did its job superbly...one of the 1st things I put on the new Pani. Dunno I those aftermarket rear cowl and tank sliders I see would have prevented any damage in this crash :p.

Precisely, happened so fast, but it's apparent right side hit the ground first, and hard. my right right knee also took a beating. Then all I rememeber is tumbling threw the air with absolutely no control of bracing or slowing my self down.

Left side had minor scratches on fairings, left handle bar broke off and swingarm have a little grass/mud smudge.

Jesus, glad you're ok! A bike can always be replaced. Your health is not so easily re-bought. Good luck on the next one!

Did you do this on the track? I thought that you could not get cover for the track. One or two companies do specific track insurance but its astronomical and so very few track riders have it? Maybe you did it on the road and this is a mute point but would be interested if you did do it on the track who you have cover with. Txs and glad you're ok more than anything else!

Deer attack ...that's my story and im sticking to it ;-) lol

I'm with Progressive and yes, many insurance companies cover you on the track but they won't announce this. I found out that it would have to be a non timed event or instructional as in NOVICE...so yes, that does cover most your track days.

You will have to ask your specific insurance company

I did 2 months ago...had pics post on a topic in this forum. Minor damage to the bike. Got it fixed.

Entered the corner on a curving hill side at around 90km, the street was under construction without any sign or warning, so much gravel on the surface...bike went straight to the side, dump the bike and jump...bike hit the gravel pile and fall down.

hehehehe....it was fun.

Bikes cost double here and no insurance. Suck but won't stop me from riding.

There are a lot of Deer hanging aroung turn 3 at Gateway Motorsports here in STL, you really have to watch out for them! :D

lol

yeah, I remember that post. I am trying to get a collective tally of how many of us have went down on the Pani.

Did you just fix it outta pocket?
