the shop that is building my bike
Who is bolting all those parts on?

I always tripped on the guys that were like, “l just ride it man”

Maybe it is a benefit to not have to think - is this right is that right maybe I shoulda done etc etc instead

Throw yer leg over it and go : )

I do plenty of work on my bikes, but when it comes to setting up the full build of a race bike I leave that to professionals. I cannot afford lose time on track over a stupid mistake.

that is truly the biggest question as these bikes have very limited tuning options...

Agreed - Bren tune, up map, any others?

I would do an aftermarket exhaust if there was a more sophisticated tuning option and not the two bandaids listed above.

Also, is this the only modern superbike with no real tuning options? And if so, why?

Why dont you post a couple pics of what you got cooking in your workshop..?

Waiting on custom Pistons Rods Crank Pins
Gapless rings

Waiting for Web to figure out if they can do the cams or not

All that will prolly be sorted and here before Mondello flows the heads and I know which one of my port designs works the best. They might figure out a way to crack yer ecu before that happens...

I think it is a combo of the lack of demand and difficulty of getting into the ecu

re engineering a engine seems like a worthy use of money and time.

Yer just jealous cuz you gotta spend $25,000.00 on parts before you will be able to pay someone to tune your new bike for that slip on lol

Naw it’s not funny

My heart goes out to you guys

Cost to power/weight thing we were talking about:
Short answer GP21 has 234 to +250hp with $4million build cost @ 346.1 lbs.dry weight

Anyway, KarlKani, if you find 300hp in all your mods and you don't go faster than Miller, then we're all going to razz you endlessly.
No pressure. ;P
However if you find 300hp with less than $7figures you will be our mods-king and we will buy your signed books.
No pressure.

The googles say, "www.ducati.com › racing › motogp
234 hp with full racing exhaust Power · 87.7 lb-ft with full racing exhaust Torque · 152.2 kg (335.5 lb) with racing kit Dry weight."
Each prototype will vary of corse.

Ducati.com GP21 Tech Specs section says, "Over 250" whatever that is. That's prolly considered strategic info. For sure go fast has a lot to do with all that finesse that is going around curves with that power. But ya, it's endlessly fascinating to nerd out on the tech specs.

Money Inc has an article on the price of the 2020 bikes:
"A MotoGP 1000 cc $4 million. The engine parts alone are $425,000 with $25,000 in valuable parts, $15,000 for the tires, a range between $25,000 to $100,000 for the accident cost." This does not cover R&D costs which is usually billed to "Marketing" with its typical fuzzy budget.

Desmosedici GP | Ducati Lenovo Team MotoGP
Maximum power

Dry weight157 kg (346.1 lbs.)
Over 250hp
The HP figures vary quite a bit because they are limited on fuel during a race so that is one of the limiting factors in getting up towards 300. The main difference between motogp engine and road engine is pneumatic valves and the crankcases are milled from billet not cast. There are many other differences obviously like dry sump, seamless shift etc. As for the tyres cost i think michelin supply at very reduced cost, i was mechanic in a world supersport team for a while and the system in wsbk and wss is the team pays their entry fee for the year and this covers transport of bikes and machinery, and entry fees and tyres, so you have your allocation for the weekend and whatever you dont use goes back to pirelli, even the used tyres, when you break it down the tyres were practically free.

its a full system Don
how much does re engineering an engine cost? Custom exhaust, pistons, cranks what ever the .....

What I’m doing inside my engine is gonna cost me about what that full system cost you

Difference is that Akra might be responsible for 10hp increase (if you can get it tuned)

I’ll cut my nutz off if mine only picks up 10

I’m not going for all top end hp anyways

The combo should have some crazy torque and make it a lot earlier than before

I saw that yesterday and was blown away

Granted 2 seconds is a bunch

But still...

Wonder if Karl might be able to beat all 3 of their times? Not being a ..... I heard you were really quick

You are always being a .... that is why no one ..... with you don. Dead Kennedy’s is much better then then smut peddlers which is an embarrassing band to reference. And portland is my home town so I will take it. I have feeling don thinks I am like a banker or something..
