Your 1199 Standout Feature

Electronic Management

The electronic management systems. It lets an old, slow guy like me work up to longer and longer episodes of WOT. And when all the aids are disabled it's interesting trying to manage the batshit crazy bitch while off her meds...

I think it would be much easier stating something we don't like vs. trying to single out our favorite feature. I haven't pushed the bike to half its capability since I still have 1 inch chicken strips but I don't need to in order to realize all the awesomeness this bike has to offer, quirks n all.

I realy like how for this bike Ducati decided to create "electronics compartments", how all the electronics (vr, ecu, abs control, ignitors) are jammed into two pockets on the sides on the tank and then complimented with two direct air intake from the sides of the front ram air ducts.
That is smart for road bikes, to allow proper cooling on the sensitive parts of the bike.

Now, contrast this with how they put the voltage regulator (equipped with heatsink of course) right next to the exhaust header behind the radiator on the 848/1x98. And the early model didn't even have proper heatshielding :)

Even with the Marzocchi forks, handling is the most impressive followed by the sound after 7k of the engine changing gear.
Worse thing is I put on the right side engine cover cause the three bolts burned me, now only two bolts burn me!

For me? Confidence in your line when leaned over. Sublime speed stealth.

Me LOL

The bike just oozes sex, but the stand out feature that everyone overlooks is the beautifully crafted side stand.

The free option forcing you to bleed the clutch every 1000km's to find NEUTRAL!

Well I don't have an 1199 but I can tell you the stand out feature is the appearance... keep the towels handy for wiping away the drool!

First the looks, and then the incredible engine. After hearing so much mixed reviews, I almost jumped from an s1krr to the hp4, but something in my head told me to at least give it a chance.

I owned the 1198s, and to be honest thought I was done with a twin sbk after moving to the bmw.

After 5 mins, I was just blown away by what ducati have done. Twin fun yet amazingly smooth. Also remarkably comfortable! Hp4 order was binned :)
