I changed my first base model 1199 to the 41T rear, and that made the bike much more lively.
Here's an interesting tidbit- I just put the street body back on my 1199R to use it as a streetbike for a little while. When I first got it, I ran it 600mi on the street with the stock cans and no up-map just to get it broken in before I stripped it for the track. With the stock exh, it frequently stalled, and didn't have the greatest of manners around town, sometimes dodgy throttle response. Fast forward to now, with the Termis it is positively awesome for back-roads riding. No stalling, perfect smooth fuel mapping.
1199 is not the bike to be stuck in traffic on. It's a big dog that wants to run. Anything under about 40 mph and it starts to heat up. If you've ridden a 2012 without the heat shield upgrades, it can get downright painful without leathers, but updated bikes, and 2013+ are fine.
