Hey guys, im new to this forum, new to ducati, but ive been riding sportsbikes for ever. I have a strange problem when leaving the trafic lights or a stop sign, my 1199 seams to blip the engine revs without ever touching the gear leaver, as if the dqs is activating for no reason. It only happens sparatically, but when it does, it wants to throw me over the handle bars. I have tried changing one of the riding modes so the dqs is deactivated and i dont seam to have the problem. Has anyone had the same issue, and is it a mechanical adjustment or an electronics fault? And no, my foot is nowhere near the leaver when it happens, and there's no fault light. .thx for any imput or ideas.

Yes, all standard. It is just a hunch thats its the dqs, im open to other ideas also. Its just that the time that it cuts the power is very similar to the dqs time, and turnimg it off appears to fix it.

Sounds like a defect shift rod switch. What happens if you disconnect it? Plug is under the left lower fairing. Just follow the wire.

I will try that next, do u know how the switch operates?, is it a simple set of contacts or an electronic strain gauge style switch that depends on a specific voltage? I was reluctant to take it apart just yet, as its still potentially under warranty.

So i had a look, checked it with a multimeter, it's working fine. I did however find a tiny black spot on the plastic insulation covering the microswitch hat may have been grounding the circuit..could have been machine swarf from the manufacturing that got trapped between the alloy and switch in the exact wrong place.... after a 30 minute ride, no problems. Thx for your help so far, fingers crossed that was it.

Does it feel like it is missfiring? like the power is cutting in and out?

And as soon as you turn DQS off on the dash the problem goes away?

If so sounds like you have the same issue as me, i took us 2 months and replacing many parts to find out the issue was somewhere in the wiring harness.
