Isn't dry weight of Standard 1199 164Kg???

Yes, the weight savings of 26.5 lbs (32 lbs with their track kit) is not as substantial as what was reported. For $65k I would want a -40 lb., +20 HP enhancement in street trim, which doesn't appear to be the case. Very neat bike regardless, just not quite what I was expecting.

I received my invitation this morning, and logged in to see the bike.

Ducati did a great job with the video presentation, and the details.

I'm happy with my "R", so I doubt I go for it. There just isn't enough to sway me.

I can't wait to see it in person regardless.

It is an Akra full system

Looks like a stock in house system from Ducati on there now, and I'm willing to bet the racing system will be the full Termi. Look at the differences between the system on the SL and the Akra, too many differences with heat shields, outlets and rivets are the biggest that stand out.

That and the weight differences. The Akra system is stated as 4.8Kg/10.6lb lighter whereas the Termi is 2Kg/4.4lb lighter. So the stock aluminum cans from the Base/S/R were replaced with Ti with the race system being Termi?

So how long before someone copies the paint scheme on their "lesser" 1199???

I guess my question who wants the MotoGP theme? That bike hasn't hasn't lit any fires.

I'm going through the website now. Let me know if you want any more pics.

The technology is very impressive, and the bike should do well on the track.

I'm hoping the aftermarket world die-sects this bike and comes up with alternatives/ parts that are cheaper and worth investing in. The carbon fiber subframe would be my first guess as to what will be available soon :)

Any mentioning of launch or wheelie control?

The only impressive number I see is the increase in compression 13.2:1. Due to the Superbike pistons and it should increase low/mid power. The top end Crank Hp is about the same as the rest of the 1199 with full Termi System. This bike should accelerate really fast due to the increase in low/mid range combined with the weight savings will give it a good power to weight ratio although STW was right it's looks to be only 16lbs. Kind of disappointing that Ducati is copying what people already is doing to their 1199"s for cheaper than $65K.

I'm going to bet its a Termi system too. Also the site says "205+ hp with racing exhaust". Doubt it's going to be the 220hp speculated.

Yes, DWC = Ducati Wheelie Control
This bike has a completely different electronics package, I don't believe all of the full details are available yet, probably saving some of the stuff to trickle out at the EICMA show. Notice that it has switchable DWC and DTC settings via a left-hand switch on the handlebar? Notice how they achieved wheelie control and that it's programmable? 13.2:1 compression ratio vs. 12.5:1 on the normal Superquaddro. WSBK pistons and crank. You couldn't exactly build an R up to this spec easily.
