It says "OVER 250 HP" ….. exactly. Like 260 HP.
Ducati 1199 Panigale R Superleggera. An ultra-exclusive version of the Ducati 1199 Panigale R, the Superleggera edition is exactly what its Italian name suggests, a super-light version of the Panigale R.
With the Panigale R already the lightest sport bike to ever come from Ducati, the Panigale R Superleggera goes even further, employing titanium, carbon fiber, and magnesium throughout the machine to drop its curb weight by an additional 40 lbs. Ducati isn't stopping there though.
I think for the weight savings of 40 lbs most people on this planet would be better served my getting a membership to the gym, not spending $65K so you can brag about your bike being lighter.
So if you have that much money to blow....
the panigale sl or the new Honda race replica?
It says "OVER 250 HP" "¦.. exactly. Like 260 HP.
Listen I would really like to have one, as all of us would, (I may get one). However, what this bike does for me at the end of the day, is make me treat my R more like a bike than some limited, top spec bike...lol.
Psychologically, now that my R is a "Base" model bike I will treat it more like a track whore and ride it as such...lol.
Maybe I will dump 15k into my R and turn it into a WSBK replica.
All I know is I want to thank Ducati for raising the bar and making me feel okay about spending insane amounts of money on bikes.
Be prepared for the big dissapointment. The R model was supposed to be the world beater and isn't. This new bike will be cool and exclusive but it's not going to flip flop anything and for a fraction of cost or upgrade the BMW and Aprilia will still be quicker around a track. Say what you will...sit back and watch.

It's got nothin to do with being a blast at a party...lol..but thanks. It's speakin in terms of the truth. Do you think this 65k bike is going to lay waste to the Aprilia RSV4 Factory or BMW HP4? The Pani...period... was supposed to raise the bar to another level and it hasn't...in any of the models and has fallen short. It's got nothing to do with negativity..I love Ducati, but I can call a spade a spade..a rarity on the forum.

That's the thing though, you can't call a spade a spade if you don't have all the information, because then you're just talking out your ass.
I am well aware the HP4 is the better bike when compared to the 1199, but to call the 1199SL a big disappointment before it is even revealed is being unfair.
What would happen if I consider modding my HP4 with around $30k??? Engine, electronics, suspension"¦"¦. Hmmmmmmm.
Or the other road: What happens when I complete my 1199RS project for LESS than $65k, and exceed the HP, and come in lighter than this bike? Maybe I will build 10 units. LOL
you'd have a heavily modded but still butt ugly bmw!
