Still planning to trade the financed R for twice the debt plus the loss you've already incurred huh?

When he first bought the R, he was saying how he hoped there won't be something better like the RR. Well....now there is so, and he seem to want to best so has the pay the price but hey, if you have the money then go for it. :D

Really?

I have an HP4 and an 1199R and the HP4 is not the better bike. These two are on a par and overall I think the R is the faster when push comes to shove. I realize we could argue this all day and that is not my point. My point is that I believe the Superleggere will decimate any current motorcycle or any past one for that matter. At 65 grand Ducati will deliver an absolutely awesome, dominating work of art. By the way, I also own a Desmosedici and it is a magnificent experience every time I ride it. Furthermore, my HP4 has 2500 miles on it and it is for sale.

Thanks for your input. I still do think Desmo's looks is awesome. Message me what $ you are looking for the HP4.

Yes it is.

The Pani may be underpowered but the BMW will always be ugly.
If BMW get off the drugs their on, and hire a stylist that knows what they're doing then DUCATI will have a real fight on their hands in the market place.
Then still the BMW will always be like every other I4 out there.

I looked at the BMW and the only things that I didnt like about it was the mismatched headlights, and the dash. But the Panigale when first seen in the flesh screamed BUY ME!!!!! The beginning of a love affair!!!! My mate has headlight covers on his BMW that match and this does make it more appealing to the eye, but still not as sexy as the Panigale.

Appeal

I agree Carl1199, the Panigale R is far more appealing to the eye. I don't dislike the look of the Beemer and I actually think the headlights are kind of unique, but the Ducati is just a beautiful work of art. I never grow tired of looking at it and the ride experience is blissful candy for the senses; complex and satisfying.

would i get one?

as to where i am on mine? not if i can put some of the trick bits on mine.. up till now i've not lightened the bike for 7kg's definiatly. that would make 160 without fuel.. all it takes is the mag triples and carbon subframe and some more ti bolts and drop the ABS cost: 3K euro's.. then to power adding th SBK pipe and SBK pistons will give me 201 bhp at the wheel. cost : 5Keuro's ?

but what would make it sexy: the tank setup with the bigger airbox...:) the new WSBK wheels ... magnesium swingarm and triples..titanium blue in the AKRA xhaust . and a mapping that runs over a 1198R with 70MM akra.... perhaps then i can turn this one in the rain bike then... :)

Let's not forget you can buy a SL from Hertkampf with club race Magnetti electronics... for : 119.000 euro's...

As much as I would love to own one, it doesn't look like it's in the cards for me although I was offered to buy one today. I would have to sell the 1199R at a huge loss and then get a bike that would become a garage queen. I track the 1199R several times a month and that's about the limit of how much I'm willing to risk out there - I'm just not in the position to put 65k on the line at the track on a regular basis. For the same money I can buy a new street bike next year, buy a few more bits for the 1199R and track it all next year. But wow would it me amazing to own the SL...we'll see if I live to regret passing on one.

I was told today by my dealer you need to put down a 10k non refundable deposit to get one on order.

Also that the bike that was shown was the orangey-red color of the Moto-GP bikes. Pretty neat!

Curious to see if offer is coming straight from Ducati or by dealers. Thought I saw where Ducati was going to offer but hearing dealers offering. Thanks.

Out of my reach. Sure now that my son is now into professional racing. 9 years old, karting for two years now, and a real money pit. Lol. Glad I have my R already.

Ducati Project 1201

This URL seems to be a teaser for the Superleggera and appears to have some more details on it from tomorrow with those who will have special access..

From the picture it looks to be that Akrapovic is the exhaust on that and it seems to have all sorts of carbon stuff on it..

Now that's a killer bike with that system..

Professional? I let my kid try it a few times...he's got the gift, but I wouldn't know how to get him started. He's 10. When he was 9 I caught him YouTubing how you use a manual clutch so I bought him a KLX 110 with a clutch and he figured it out.

The only down side is his mom will kill me if something happens to him!

I'm not sure that's the same Akra system. We'll know tomorrow.

I actually doubted that too at first but after seeing that and the pics from the Akra exhaust thread posted by Antihero.. my suspicions seem to be correct..

We'll know for sure tomorrow but my gut feel says Akra and I hope it is :D.. that would be so badass

I should've said the same Akra system. Look at the silencer outlets closely, they're different as are the front part of the silencer. I actually hope it's Akra too though.
