I wonder if AH has already been "invited" to purchase one :D If so. I can't wait to read his RR around????? Europe?? :D:D:D

I think for the weight savings of 40 lbs most people on this planet would be better served my getting a membership to the gym, not spending $65K so you can brag about your bike being lighter. :D

Hahahaha.. perhaps. But for some $30K or $65K is the same thing. Going to the gym to lose 40lb on the other hand is damn hard work. :D:D:D:D

It's got nothin to do with being a blast at a party...lol..but thanks. It's speakin in terms of the truth. Do you think this 65k bike is going to lay waste to the Aprilia RSV4 Factory or BMW HP4? The Pani...period... was supposed to raise the bar to another level and it hasn't...in any of the models and has fallen short. It's got nothing to do with negativity..I love Ducati, but I can call a spade a spade..a rarity on the forum.

Well, i'll call a spade a spade and totally disagree with you.

The 1199 (at least in the S variant) it actually did raise the bar IMO.

Also I don't believe any of the variants have "fallen short" AT ALL.

The new SL may very well "lay waste" to the RSV4 Factory and the HP4 if the power and weight figures talked about are even half right it may be possible.

Anyway, i'm not suffering from any delusions.
I was in the market for an 1198SP and bought the 1199S instead. As far as i'm concerned it's a much better bike to ride all round, and has simultaneously redefined the style of things to come let alone factoring in specifications in a ground breaking way.
In terms od beauty alone, just put the 1198 next to an 1199 and the older bike looks a little dated despite it's inherent beauty.
I also have stated before, that I couldn't care less wether it ever wins a race let alone a championship. Despite the cost of the thing, I think it's a wonderful bike to ride and it's worth it just to be alive in this time and to have such great bikes at our disposal.
It's a great life:)

Agreed!

It's not ugly with race fairings"¦.

Yes it is.

The Pani may be underpowered but the BMW will always be ugly.
If BMW get off the drugs their on, and hire a stylist that knows what they're doing then DUCATI will have a real fight on their hands in the market place.
Then still the BMW will always be like every other I4 out there.

I owned a s1000rr and now a pani.....at least for me the pani is 100x more fun to ride.

I'm sure the SL would be even better (even if that is a crazy amount of money)

have a couple interests. I don't want to sell it but between getting divorced and moving back to Alaska I really should. Maybe I'll buy an SL then :)

Still planning to trade the financed R for twice the debt plus the loss you've already incurred huh?

Hey, I see you are copping a few hits for wanting to buy one of these. I say go for it mate. If you can afford it, buy one and enjoy it. I would if I could.

Not sure why others are so concerned how you are spending your money. Perhaps a little bit of one of the seven deadly. Envy.:)

An email from who? Your local dealer?

NO sorry mate I was just taking the piss and having a joke. Just poking some fun at all this stuff about special emails and special phone calls. I think if I rang my local dealer he would not know what I was talking about.

I am certainly not on any special list like some on the forum here.

I thought it was a pretty obvious tongue in cheek. :D

No envy. There's not a sucker here that can't finance one too. I'm gonna guess you're not a financial planner?

No far from it. If I was I probably would not have pulled the trigger on a new 1199S. Especially at the price we pay here in Australia. $36K on the road.
