Hello guys,

I am new to the forum.

I am a happy owner of a Panigale 1299S MY2016, the bike has only 5K kilometer.

Last week I brought the bike to my closest Ducati dealer to get that serviced, I am talking about the Annual Service (oil/filter change, software/recalls checks so on so forth). This is because I haven't covered the 12K kilometers during the first year so I have to service that anyway (despite the low mileage) for the warranty.

When I collected the bike back, I turned it on and the dashboard was still alerting me with the 3 seconds OIL Service message (with the countdown how many kilometers left to 12K)

So I was very surprised and I would have thought that the mechanics would have reset that following my service.

I reported the problem to them and they said they could not reset it as the software loaded on my 1299S MY16 doesn't not allow them to do that UNLESS I have covered the 12K kilometers first. Only then, they can reset the alert.

Could you please tell me if this is correct and all the 1299S MY16 owners experienced the same thing or this is something they could not fix it so I have to escalate?

Thanks a mill
Marco

Makes sense to me. You will see a countdown until you reach 12k then after that you will see a temporary icon with a red background color that says something like oil service!

Then the countdown will reset until the next service (with a green background color instead of yellow)

so, yes, they cant erase something that hasn't happened yet

No dealer can reset the oil message until it reaches the service indicator light.
Stupid I know.

Which is why ill be doing my own yearly service.

Ok guys.

So I know now that I have to wait till 12K before I get this away from my dashboard :)

thanks for that

Hi all - finally something that I can comment on with certainty.

This isn't entirely true - if you're a few thousand K's off from the count down as is the case with the original poster, it's very likely that the dealer can't reset the count down.

I had my bike serviced with about 300 kms from it's 12,000 km service and the count down was reset when I picked it up. It even included the 300 kms to the next count down....

Only cost me $800 AUD to find this out...hahahaha
