Chaotic, Im not going to sit here and argue or try and convince you of anything. Your beliefs are your beliefs and I respect that. You trying to break 200mph on an 1299S at 215 lbs (no disrespect) but it will almost be impossible. This is why they use women drivers in drags. You won't achieve this on an 1299S unless you change the ECU and unrestricted the bike and add more torque ala gearing change. Ive poured tons of $ into my first 1199 with engine mods to hit the 200 mark and yes call it BS if you want but it was impossible at that time to crack the ECU or get a unrestricted ECU. As a racer yourself you know that AMA bike can only use the OEM ECU with only A/F changes so you won't see many AMA riders break the 200mph they struggle elsewhere to add HP/Torque and it doesn't really buy you anything because of the amount of time to get there. Its acceleration that you want not terminal speed.
I see a lot of people out there doing expensive engine mods to try and hit the 200 mark out here in So California. Its not that uncommon for people out here to join the 200 mph club. Ive seen my friends 2003 GSXR 1000 hit 210 and he is the current champion around here. He is gunning for 220 (pipe dream) but he builds drag bikes for a living and he knows his stuff. This is something you can't achieve on a track because its too short the only one I can think of here in California is big willow.
If you don't believe me you should call Ducati and sue them for false advertisement also You should call Ducati, MCN, Top speed and everyone else and call BS.
Someone mentioned seeing a bike nearly hit 200mph at Bonneville salts flats. Thats hauling ... because everyone knows hitting 178MPH on the flats is equal to hitting 200mph on the Tarmac
