Ill still keep my twin even when the V4 comes out. No point to sell it or trade it in. I think of all the bikes Ive had or even have now the 1299 Panigale is the one I want to keep. Call me nostalgic but I want to hold on it as a part of the twin history. Maybe Ill wait a year after the V4 comes out to see if it has any kinks to work out but if its trickled down technology from motogp then it could be proven already and its most likely been in the works for a while now. I'd trade in or sell my 2015 BMW S1000R for a Ducati V4 but still keep both the 1299 and 2016 S1000RR. My friends dad still has his 1990 851, 1993 888, 1995 916 and of course his 2015 1299R. Ive ridden his 851, 888, and 916. Love all of them. Im sure the V4 will be off the charts. Buts a twin is still a twin. Im sure most will agree with me here

tell me where your mate got his 1299R, would love one of those. Sorry just kidding.

They race electric bikes at the TT.

If every single manufacturer swapped to electric/next gen today it would bring the price down pumping out billions of vehicles. Oil industry is the biggest killer of next gen stuff "who killed the electric car"

Thanks for posting. Looks like it has the underseat exhaust. Subverting a lower centre of gravity for fashion. Will look cool though.
I'd say function not fashion? They can't get the top end power to match the Kawasakis out of the underslung exhausts unfortunately.

Maybe you are correct. Although for us here on the forum, its just the latest fashion. Not too many WSBK riders on this forum. BTW like your big wheelie avatar.

I'm in no hurry to go through the grief of the exh noise issues again with another underbelly
system. I had it with KTMs RC8 and more recently with the Pani R. I hope that
the final design goes back underseat purely from an ease of modification perspective.

Though I look forward to experiencing Ducati's V4 interpretation, think I will be keeping
my twins and only moving on once the finances allow additions to the stable instead of exchanges.

So after a 6-year run Ducati would release new bike that looks exactly like the current bike, only with a different engine....... ???? Who do they think this is, Aprilia??? :p

Yeah...

I hope it has a total re-design from bottom up.

OK Ive got some better res images I will upload shortly. The spy shots clearly show the new engine and a redesigned exhaust system but I dont think the bodywork or frame is representative of the finished product (looks as though it's modified 1299 bodywork. There is also a bunch of datalogging equipment strapped to the back of it, so it's likely a test mule. Pretty sure these "shots" are knowingly leaked out, to heighten anticipation. Just as was the case with the Panigale

or honda.....
or Suzuki.......
or HD..... oh wait...watch this space.

The shots were taken at Mugello within the last two weeks, where security is perhaps a little more compromised than at other circuits the factory uses for new models. The bike has also been testing at Nardo, over the last few months, which has been described by the Italian press as Fort Knox in terms of getting any scoop shots, so that's where final prototypes will probably end up being tested (which will be much more representative of the final look of the bike). Remember Troy Bayliss testing there for the 1199 in 2012. The shots were described as being as a result of a late tip off that the bike was circulating.

I'm compiling a rough translation of the accompanying article in the IN-MOTO magazine, then i will post up the pics.

Two additional shots but at a slightly better res and a larger one of that already posted.
