Did someone say the torque is limi in second gear Somewh? I thought I remember hearing that and I have to say the more I ride her it seems like first gear is great all the way up but if you jump on it in second it just doesn’t pull like you would think it should. What do you guys think?

I wrote that in my review of the bike although I felt it in all the low gears 1st through 4th. Do you have the race flash with the full system?

Yes I do. It feels good in first and the other gears but when your in second just cruising along at a light throttle input and the roll it on there is a lull point or dip kind of then once she get rolling in the upper RPM's she'll start really ripping but there is something there for sure. I'd love to be able to see what the throttle maps look like and the timing maps. They can easily have different maps for each gear and it would be very cool to see what these have.....

Would be interesting to hear what settings you ride in. I was riding the stock bike in sport mode and felt a noticeable difference in race mode. I've heard the full system and race flash in race mode, should be less nerfed in the lower gears.

It's my understanding that the Ducati Design Team believes winning races sells bikes. This belief drives even their software engineers in delivering exhilarating bikes to us the consumer while maintaining safety at the forefront. However for most of us who ride bikes on the road, drivability ranks at the top, only next to reliability. It will be interesting in running through all the factory pre-sets to determine where, if any real problems arise:)

I ride in both sport and race mod but don't notice any difference in the throttle mapping. I ride in custom dynamic suspension settings and the only difference in the two modes is my race mode is set for fixed suspension for the race track. Other than that its all the same. this would be something in the ECU that needed the attention. I know on my H2 it had a timing deal where it cut timing out in the lower gears to chill it out. I had it flashed and it took care of that.

Does anyone have the install instructions for the carbon swing arm cover (96981271aa) and are willing to post pics of them. The Panigale V4(S) instructions might work close enough;)

There are eight tape one-sided rubber bumpers that are a mystery. Also does the shared mount with the rear fender for the cover go under or over?

I've been riding in sport and moved throttle from "smooth" to race and it feels punchier to me. This bike in my view is ballistically quick. it's an absolute missile. I've been working with Dave moss on the suspension set up and that along with the full exhaust and upmap I'm thoroughly impressed. The more i ride it the more I'm amazed at what it can do. It is a very different animal than the 2020 superduke which I've also spent some time on. While that bike feels more playful, this SF feels more capable and more serious. I think it was made with track time in mind. It's comfortable and smooth and easy to ride long distances, looks incredible and goes like stink, but can carve up the canyon roads with the best of the superbikes. It is not a wheelie machine. First gear comes up easily, second requires some provoking, but get it up to 55mph in second snap the throttle and you'll have no problem riding one out to 85 in a controlled manner. 1100 miles on the clock at the moment and getting more and more comfortable with her. I'm not thrilled with the initial brake feel which I think can be addressed with proper pads and at times it would be fun to have the insane torque on hand which the SD offers in spades, but this SF is something else. It's also hard not to fall in love with how she looks.

Hey Duc. I don't recall the rubber bumpers. I can take a picture of how it connects with the rear fender. hang tight.

here's the bolt underneath the swing arm. I wedged it between the swingarm and the plastic chain guard.

For reference, here is how it came installed on my V4S Speciale.

Thanks.
I see you have the carbon heel guards. How durable are they? Do they scuff easy?

Well said KMY I agree totally. I love the bike and she is definitely capable. She handles like a dream and is very fast. I do miss the Super Duke torque a bit but the SF in my opinion is a more precise platform.

This platform is way more precise than anything. Someone told me the PV4 cornering is “telepathic” and it’s so true. But yeah I miss the low down torque of the 1299 but I didn’t get rid of that to get the v4.
My criticism is that faster around the track doesn’t make for a more exciting street bike.
I’m sure your SV4 offers a bit more torque than the PV4

I’m still head over hells for my 1299; The torque is amazing. I agree that faster around the track doesn’t always translate into more fun. i love my V4 Speciale and the SF but they do lack the punch in the throat brut torque of the 1299 imo

Post a pic of the stable!
I ran out of room in my garage

I rode one of the demo V4S Streetfighters from my local dealer a few weeks ago, what an incredible bike! I didn't think it could be better than a Tuono Factory 1100 but it SURE is! Can't wait to get mine....

I have built custom blacked-out Ohlins suspension and 7 spoke flat-black Marchesini wheels arrived today! Full Akrapovic, DP rearsets and a smattering of carbon fiber all on order....my base model is currently being made :)

I had a 2018 V4, sold it for the my 2019 V4R (track only) and was quite surprised by the difference in feel the SF has.

Although the frame is cast at 24.5 degrees the head angle insert is 26.5 and moved forward 2 mm.

Swingarm is 1/2" longer and the valving is much lighter in the forks for BOTH rebound and compression while only slightly different for the shock on compression. Spring rates are quite different as well, likely to create more mechanical grip at street pace due to chassis pitch.
